Flower Bouquets!

Lisa, on August 7, 2020 at 9:45 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 57
Looking for inspiration for my bouquet, and I would love to see what you all did! Flowers have been one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning for me, since I'm clueless about them, and it seems like there are just so many options! My wedding colors are cerulean blue, sparkly silver, and white.

Did your bouquet match your bridesmaids flowers? How did you decide on what flowers to choose? Did you have a lot of greenery in your bouquet, or mostly flowers? Did you include flower colors that weren't one of your wedding colors? Share a picture of what your bouquet and/or your bridesmaids bouquets looked like!

I opted to go real silk - found a beautiful cascading wrist corsage on Etsy and asked the seller if she could customize to match with the colors of sunrise (at the venue) and my FH and his son’s suits.

That sounds super pretty! Do you have a picture of it? Are the sunrise colors your wedding colors?

I sent her pictures of our sunrise and suits and one of her bouquets.
The grid pic, lower right was my inspo and the other three she sent for color ideas.
I told her she’s in charge. I have no idea what the final will look like but her pics are gorgeous

Yes, for the most part our colors are the sunrise focus on orange (my FHs son -10 favorite color)
I wanted him as involved as possible to make our day even more special

My bouquet and me with my bridal party. We did a lot of greenery and ferns, bridesmaids and I shared a lot of the greenery but I had bigger flowers and they had smaller green ones.

Our wedding colors were red and black with silver and blush as accent colors. Unfortunately, my florist was a wreck and didn't listen to anything I said. She used pink roses instead of blush. She also used way more flowers in the bridesmaids and groomswoman's bouquets. They were only used to have 1-2 roses, nhhr she used about 12 for each so they looked nothing like my inspiration photo that I sent her. So my bouquet ended up with red, white and pink roses with baby's breath. My maid of honor's was a small version of mine. I originally picked hers to be different because I wanted her to stand out from the bridesmaids and groomswoman since she was supposed to be in the same dress as them. She ended hating her dress so she got a different dress. The bridesmaids and groomswoman's bouquets were red roses with baby's breath. The first two photos were what I wanted and the last one is from my actual wedding. You can see that the florist did something completely different than what I asked.

I used sola wood flowers, I painted the burgundy colored ones myself to match my sister’s dress, it’s David’s bridal color wine. It took a bit to figure how to match the color but I got it. I didn’t use any greenery in the bouquets but I did use floral berries and champagne colored babies breath, I don’t really have a specific reason for not using any greenery, I kind of just liked how it looked without it.

If you do wood flowers you can choose what type of flowers you get unless you get an assortment, but even then you can get an idea of what you’re going to get. I bought all my flowers on sale because I didn’t want to spend a ton on them, I tried sticking to rose type flowers.

My bridesmaid’s bouquet will be similar, but smaller in size and will include some white flowers

My bouquet should arrive in September, I’m excited to get it. Again, I’m letting her pick our end result based off the pictures.
I didn’t want a traditional bouquet because I don’t want to hand it over during our ring exchange.

Very pretty!! I love how the colors of your flowers seem to match the color of your dress. I'm torn on whether or not to do greenery, I sometimes feel like it can look a little overpowering if it's done a certain way, but I love how the greenery looks in your photos!

Oh, I see - I think it still turned out pretty, but I can see how that doesn't match what you were looking for. It also looks like the florist kind of combined the two inspiration pictures into one idea, rather than two separate bouquets. I actually really like the inspiration picture for the bridesmaids bouquets! I might have to look into something similar, though not sure what colors I should go with. I do love how bright the red roses are in your actual bouquet!

Pretty!! Did you make those? Or if not, where did you find them? Was the pink color that you have in the bouquet one of your wedding colors? I'm not sure whether to do flowers that are in my wedding colors or if I should do different colors for flowers.

My girls are wearing sunflower yellow and the guys are in navy blue vests and slacks with a sunflower yellow tie.
In the bouquets we’re having sunflowers, burgundy gerber daisies, orange alstroemerias, and bright green hypericum. Very little greenery.
I will have a bigger bouquet with more sunflowers while the girls will have more of the other colors to stand out from their dresses. The guys will have mini Viking poms for their boutonnières because they look like tiny sunflowers!
We’re just incorporating all the fall colors into our florals and centerpieces.

At first glance, I would not have guessed that those are wood flowers! Very well done, I love the colors! How long did it take you to put them together?

I had bought a few wood flowers to test out the idea of making my own bouquet, but I learned pretty quickly that I am not skilled in that art, so I haven't done much with them lately. Now that we postponed, I have more time to try to come up with ideas for ways to incorporate them.

I love the colors of the flowers in these!! Are those the same colors you're planning to use for your bouquet? If so, are those also your wedding colors? I'm trying to figure out if I should do a bouquet of flowers in colors that match my wedding colors, or if I should do brighter colors (that aren't my wedding colors).

The first photo(The larger bouquet) as well I will be carrying. It will be exactly like this, except we are adding black dahlias as well. The second photo (The smaller bouquet) is what my bridesmaid will be carrying, except the purple flowers will be replaced with burgundy like in my bouquet. The centerpieces for each of my tables will be very similar, except even more variety of flowers. Same color scheme though. Have you chosen a color palette for your wedding yet?
