Florist wrote the wrong date down...and they are now out of town. Wedding on Saturday.

So I always have a plan B, C, and D for every and anything that could be screwed up the day of my wedding (which is this Saturday). What was the biggest screw up for me so far? The florist wrote the wrong date on my order (that I didn't notice, because I literally said Wednesday, August 21 about 7 times in the conversation, went up to the calendar and pointed at the wedding date and counted back three days, and kept saying, "This will be good for a wedding on August 24, correct?"). Well, they wrote, "Pick up for August 31, Wednesday Morning". A date that doesn't exist and that no one seemed to question. It would only be a small problem...if they weren't OUT OF TOWN UNTIL AUGUST 26 (which I found out today when I showed up at the shop and saw a handwritten sign on the door). So ya...I'm fluctuating between a bit of rage, sadness, and a bit of "Well, life sure sucks some days".

I am lucky to always have back-ups...but being a bride on a budget, this will be about 2-3 hundred dollars more then I wanted to. And then I have to deal with the fact that I prepaid for part of that order...and how the aftermath of them not completing it works. Any suggestions with that?

Demand a refund after they come back. It’s their error, not yours.

No kidding! Sorry you’re dealing with that, like you don’t have enough to stress about already with your wedding coming up.

Look into your local grocery stores! It sounds crazy but I know of people who had beautiful arrangements done that way! Do you have a wegmans near you? I’ve heard Trader Joe’s is great too! Good luck!

Thank you! And oh ya, plan B is getting the specialty flowers from another flower shop and then raising TJ tomorrow morning and filling in the blanks with what we cut from everyone's yards. I just have to get a lot of petal happy flowers for my 5 flower girls 😑

That's awful! I'm glad you have a backup plan. Definitely leave reviews everywhere you can and don't let up until you get compensated!

I would also try to call and email and spam them everywhere, just so there is a paper trail of you trying to contact them.

Definitely get a refund, and I'd also try contacting them personally (can you find the owner on Facebook?) to see if they have someone else they can recommend/get to do everything for you. I'd probably try calling other florists first, but if that's not going to work, hitting up stores yourself is probably your best bet. That's a huge bummer. =/
