It's hurricane season but I am in Tampa Bay and this past Saturday it rained like crazy half the day. Weather is unpredictable. I am planning an outdoor ceremony too but having a train site as a back up. I would have one just in case. ☺️

September is beautiful in Florida even though it’s the beginning of hurricane season. We got married in May in Clearwater Beach and it was warm but a nice breeze. Check the time of sunset before you plan your timeline. No matter what month it is in Florida you always need an indoor back up plan because many afternoons there is a rain shower.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Lauren Smiley smile

As the PPs mentioned, a backup plan would be best in case of rain showers or any other adverse weather.

Have you checked out historic weather in the area during those times of years? As the PPs mentioned, Florida weather can be quite unpredictable!

It can get really hot. My friend had her wedding in west palm beach 2 years ago on almost the exact date and month as you. The guys in suit were sweating like crazy during the 30 mins outdoor ceremony.

By the way I'm looking to have my wedding in October November so if you are planning to change it I would do so now because October November as I have learned is a high season for weddings in Florida and even the photographer that I want already told me that all of her Saturdays in October are booked.

Not a popular venue. Looking within tampa bay but we're having a small elopement ceremony just some friends. I am looking at a bed and breakfast in palmetto. Check the country clubs plus i am considering an off day.

Thanks and same to you but I understand what you're saying because even that place I'm looking at they said that in October November all of their Saturdays are already booked. That's why it is a little frustrating that my fiance just feels like taking this time we'll make a decision when we save some money but I'm like these places and these people book up fast so we don't want to wait till the last minute.

Hurricane season is June to November. September and October are typically the peak of hurricane season. It really depends on where in Florida you plan to get married. As someone mentioned above about being in the Tampa Bay Area, typically Tampa Bay gets spared every year, with the exception of certain places getting tropical storm weather then. As someone else mentioned, always have a back up plan. My ceremony is to be outside and reception to be under a barn in November, but our back up plan is moving the ceremony into the barn as well as the reception. With that also being said, many venues/vendors I looked into book up quick in October. I hope this helps. Good luck and congratulations! 🍾

Hey a local to Clearwater area, September is an inferno here. Your well dressed guests will melt in the sun, even if you targeted 8pm and super casual. I would highly reccomend March-April or October-November, save money and book a Friday or Sunday.

Don't feel bad! This is a huge family event all of it's own. Go for mid Ocober or early November. I can reccomend indoor venues with a view perhaps in September, but really it's brutal and I am used to it.

I’ve been in Florida for 2 September and we live on the water and the heat isn’t too bad at night on lagoon.. So I think I’m going to think about it... we are having it catered at our house ... nothing big.. it’s marriage #2 for us both.. if I did it in November the only date I can do is November 20 and I don’t want October because my first marriage was October...

September is the height of hurricane season so be prepared for the possibility of everything going haywire. Even if it doesn't, the weather is beyond miserable at that time of year.

Very true-although as someone who has lived through a few hurricanes, being without power, water, and gas is a bit worse than a rainstorm which passes rather quickly.
