Holy cow florals are sooo expensive what is everyone spending on florals? I don’t even want the whole works and it’s still so expensive I’m in Northern CA and keep getting quoted for $4,000 and above I just can’t seen to swallow that price

I'm spending less than $200 on paper flowers from Etsy. I'm not a floral fan and they aren't super important to me.

We don't have a budget set for floral per say, but we are doing alot of diy fake flowers from amazon and hobby lobby, and given we have a year and a half still, we are attempting a trial run of growing our own flowers at our home to incorporate some real flowers into the mix as well

Erika Alvarez at Vestra Rosa Weddings, https://www.vestrarosaweddings.com/ . She's the sweetest person in the world and absolutely a problem solver. We LOVED her and she did beautiful work. (On her Portfolio page, daughter's wedding is the third link in the second row... Smiley winking ). She's located in Fullerton right near the intersection of the 5 and 91 freeways. Smiley heart

She did daughter's bouquet, 4 BMs bouquets, 11 boutonnieres, 2 FG bouquets, 2 corsages, 13 centerpieces, 4 small cocktail centerpieces, the arch arrangements, pew flowers, rose petals for the aisle, a toss bouquet, flowers for the cake, and probably more that I'm forgetting, for about $1700, including tax and delivery. The flowers were primarily roses with some hydrangeas in the centerpieces and BM bouquets. She was super accommodating and completely brought daughter's vision to life. It's really hard to imagine NOT loving her and her work! Good luck!

We’re paying $1,000. I’m ordering our flowers from Sam’s Club. I’m including a picture to show what we’re getting.

Florist here! The reason why florals are so expensive is because of multiple reasons. The first being that the actual flowers themselves are pricey. Say for example you want to have ranunculus in your bouquet. Each stem is about $2. Let's say you want to have roses, ranunculus, greenery, and peonies. The cost for 6 ranunculus would be $12, 5 roses would be $15, greenery is $6 a bunch, and peonies are $20 for 5. The total for your small bouquet would cost $53 before any of the design work. The standard rate for event work is the cost of goods times 5. This would mean that your bouquet would come out to $265. Add on your bridesmaid's bouquets, arch, boutonnieres, table arrangements and any other florals you might want and you are easily up to $4,000. Where people often find the best deals are in a couple of places. The first being they buy all the flowers and do it themselves. This can save a lot of money but it is an enormous amount of work and unless you know a lot about flower care and arranging they often don't look good or you arrangements will simply die. The second is that they buy the flowers themselves and have their distant aunt who went to a floral class once in the 60's arrange them. This can be great because it will save you a ton of time and money but again your aunt probably isn't the best designer and she probably is lacking the basic flower care knowledge. The third, one I see all to often, is couples getting an amazing deal from someone just starting out in the floral industry. They tend to price really low because they don't have a ton of experience. This is great for saving the couple money but you could get someone inexperienced enough who might not know how to get your peonies to open or how to properly hydrate hydrangeas. Florals cost a lot but just know you aren't being ripped off. Hope this helps!

    Wow! That’s a lot!
I live in Central California, and I’m having one of my future mother in laws friends bring all the flowers for me from Watsonville, they buy in bulk and I estimated about $700 for all the flowers. Including bouquets and centerpieces and boutonnières. Also I’ll be doing everything myself the night before so I will save myself some money, this is what it’ll sorta look like but different color roses.( I had to practiced lol)
You should check out all the flower marts, I panicked little trying to do it but I got the hang of it Smiley smile

We have spent less than $50 on ours and they're just about done! We got ours at the dollar tree and I've reshapped them and put them on skewers so they're not on those skinny little stems and they're longer. All I need to do is get some ribbon and more skewers.
