Floral Budget

What did 10k floral budget get you? I was quoted $14k by a popular florist in San Diego. My floral budget is 10k. Do any of you have a similar floral budget? If so, what did it get you? (ex. number of centerpieces, bouts, flower wall etc.) Just want to see if the pricing is comparable. Thanks! ...

I know it may sound crazy. But, yes I’m willing to spending 10k on flowers. I wish I could spend a little more.

My wedding vision has always been huge lush flower arrangements. I’ve explored other design options (like less flowers), but it just doesn’t feel right for my wedding. So, now I’m on a mission for the best florist who can give me my dream for 10k.

His grandparents wanted to cover our florals and gave us a 4k budget. We had a daytime boozy brunch wedding dance party in a restaurant in Rochester NY last September. Everything operated out of one space-- we had a brunch station under a suspended focal point, swapped the food for a stage for a ceremony, then danced under it the rest of the evening. We purchased and collected bud vases and larger vases and encouraged our guests to sleep florals home in addition to favors. We had minimal decor, only a few signs and a guestbook and card box.
We had 1 hanging palette with florals and greenery, 60 bud vases, 3 medium arrangements, 3 small arrangements, 1 large floor arrangement and ivy Vines for the entrance, 1 bridal bouquet, 1 bridesmaid bouquet, 7 boutineers, 5 brass corsages.
Price included full set up and break down.
    Hope this helps!

I attached a picture of my proposal from the florist I hired. This shows the price of each item individually and a description on what is included in the cost. We will be adding centerpiece flowers, but I am estimating that to come in under $200 because I only need 1-2 flowers and a little greenery for each terrarium centerpiece. If I had a 10K floral budget I would be able to purchase my order 25 times over, that means 25 bridal bouquet, 25 boutineers, 50 corsages, and 250 centerpieces worth of flowers... That's a lot of flowers! The area I live in is not super high cost, but I still feel 14K is a bit much for them to ask. What exactly did they say the 14k covered in the estimate?

$3k ; medium sized bride bouquet, two smaller bridesmaid bouquets, 9 boutonnières, 3 corsages, something like 10 garlands that are layer, not actually tied (it’s cheaper), with minimal flowers in it, sweetheart table arrangement, 5 goblets with flowers, arrangement for a random table, arrangements to go in our bike baskets.

I’m in SoCal too- I used Hidalgo Flowers in Vista. This may not be comparable because I used simple vases of flowers in my centerpieces and arranged them myself. We spent a little over $600:
1 bridal bouquet (simple floral tape wrap, no ribbons etc)
4 bridesmaid (3 plus one toss- all the same)
4 boutonnières (that we forgot in the fridge at home for the ceremony but remembered for the reception lol)
48 roses for flower girl petals plus mixed with flowers below
5 jumbo bunches of flowers that I split up for 6 tables- I laid my bouquet in the middle of the sweetheart table for decoration. This also was enough for altar flowers (2 vases), 2 for cake table and a couple smaller ones around plus the cake.
2 large bunches of eucalyptus for table and plate decor

I love flowers, but I just can't bring myself to spend thousands knowing that they'll all be in the garbage by the end of the evening. We're doing a destination wedding in my FH's hometown in Tucson, so it's not like I can bring a bunch back home with me. So, we opted to go with a botanical garden type venue so that the flowers are already there. Silk or wood flowers for the centerpiece and real flowers for my bouquet and for him.

For 10k it should and better be stunning. Can't wait to see pics!

For some ppl it's the dress, for others (like me), the food, for you it's the flowers. All good. It's going to be beautiful! Smiley smile

We were quoted $15K on ours (from Milwaukee, but vender is from Illinois) and this includes travel, set up and take down, centerpieces of all heights for 40 tables, ceremony, bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, and bridal bouquet. Our vendor is also dealing with decor like table clothes and lighting. We are saving some money by reusing some of our very tall center pieces for the church ceremony and using the bridemaids bouquets to decorate the head table.

These budgets are variable based on flower types, real/fake/or both, heights, etc.

For $1400 I got all my bridesmaids bouquets and mine and boutonnieres for all 9 groomsmen plus our two fathers and two mothers. I also got a white drape for our Trellis and some simple greenery and candles for the head table and fireplace. I feel for 10K your wedding should be a beautiful garden full of roses. Definitely would bargain down that 14K!
