Fitness Routine to be Wedding Ready!!!

Breanna, on January 20, 2020 at 4:55 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 7

I am currently looking to start a simple workout routine! I am not getting married for 2 years so I want something simple yet a tad bit challenging so I am still losing weight pretty consistently. I want to lose my tummy so it doesn't stick out in my dress. My real goal is to lose the weight by summer of 2021 because that's when I will be dress shopping. What would people recommend for workouts for tummy loss?

P.S. I already have a diet planned out because I meal prep, have even before he proposed. I am not good about exercising but I feel like that is the best way to lose my stomach!

Thank you for the helpful tips!

Honestly I think it’s different for everyone on how to lose their tummy weight. For me running on the treadmill, elliptical, or bike is what’s best for me to lose my tummy weight.
But FH and I just started lifting weights again and I’m seeing a difference in myself already.
Maybe try at home workouts that target the stomach area?

There’s no way to target fat loss to a specific area. The only way is to be in a calorie deficit and genetics will determine which area of your body most of that fat loss will come from.

I lost weight around my mid section (15 lbs in 6 months which was my goal) but cutting unhealthy things (coffee creamer, desserts & soda) and basically drinking only water. I took a HIIT class twice a week at a local gym, and did Tone It Up workouts on the app at home the other 3 weekdays. The app is helpful, you can pick different areas you want to work on and they have workouts specifically for those muscles. I also walked at least 3 miles every weekend.

You can lose weight in just one place. That's not how it works.

If you want something different from your diet plan, for general weight loss, I recommend WW (formally weight watchers). Go to meetings. It will keep you accountable and give you support along the way. You can meal prep with WW no problem. I love meal prepping!

As for working out, you need to figure out what you like or at least don't hate. For example, I hate traditional cardio. I find it boring an tedious. SO this is what I do:

-15 min cardio warm up (I do this because I know i need to warm up)

-3 sets of a push upper body weight exercise w/ abs in between sets

-3 sets of a push lower body weight exercise w/ abs in between sets

-3 sets of a pull upper body weight exercise w/ abs in between sets

-3 sets of a pull lower body weight exercise w/ abs in between sets

    -5 minutes of stretching

This takes me about 45 minutes. Again you need to find something you don't dread so try lots of things. Class, weights, running, different machines. If you dread it, you will end up quitting.

There are specific workouts for the abs that don't take long to do everyday and can be done at home. i used to do sets as well as pp mentioned.

or even something simple like planking for a longer time everyday helps.

Blogilates has free monthly calendar workouts! The key is consistency and variety! I have been running weekly for months and have noticed I need to add in weights since I now have loose skin😁 I also mix it up with yoga, hiit and pilates.
