First look regrets?

My DH and I did a first look. We didn't regret doing the first look but our photographer missed it because she was still testing the light. I gave my husband a surprise gift during ours and loved having caught his reaction.

I am so glad we did first look and BP pictures before the ceremony because we were able to enjoy our cocktail hour and thank all our guests before dinner.

Right - being able to get pictures done is a huge plus!

FH is adamant about not doing a first look. He wants the first time to see me is when I'm walking down the aisle. He doesn't have many opinions wedding related so if he still wants that when our wedding comes along I'll be okay with it! But I also want to get pics done before the ceremony to spend time with guests during cocktail hour.

@Allie- DH was the same way. It was the only thing he was adamant on. We settled and did a first touch. I loved our first touch. We still had the surprise of seeing each other for the first time coming down the aisle but being able to hold his hand before so nice. Also made for a cute pic.

We didn't do the first look and don't regret it. However we were supposed to do the first touch but ran behind and wasn't able to it, that I do regret.

We're going to do a first look because we have to get pictures done before anyway because of time. We don't have a cocktail hour and the ceremony leads right into the reception. I thin I'll be happy to get all the pics done when I'm not all sweaty yet. Plus we're also a private "minimal PDA" type of couple, so having that moment be private will be awesome

We aren't the most traditional. We are doing one. We are having a November DW on the beach (FL east coast) so time is of the essence to be able to capture everything we want.

I am a spaz. FH actually refers to me as an anxious mess and its entirely accurate. It was his idea to stay the night before together. I hadnt thought about it when he told me he thought it was a good idea. He knows I will sleep better next to him, if I sleep much at all.

When I told him I wanted to do a first look, it was a no brainer. We want time with our families and he will calm me before the event.

FH is adamant about not doing one. I'm also very traditional, so it's one thing neither of us will budge on. I do like the idea of a first touch.

We're extremely private, we haven't even made a huge engagement announcement. It's just how we are.

FH doesn't want to; he wants to be traditional. I want one just because our wedding is in Nov at 5 PM. I'd like some daytime pics of us.

We are doing one and I can't wait! After all the planning and stress I won't be able to wait any longer to have a moment to ourselves. I have heard from so many people that it doesn't take anything away from walking down the aisle.

We did one and have zero regrets. It was amazing getting to spend more of our wedding day together, and our first look pictures are some of my favorites. Plus we got to enjoy cocktail hour and eat all the amazing food!

Also, it didn't take away that moment walking down the aisle at all. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy as the professional started.

We did. It was nice to get a lot of the pictures out of the way so that way we could enjoy our cocktail hour at least for a little while.

Did one and absolutely do not regret it! It was a total highlight of the day. Everything else was for other people, but that moment was just for us. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Our cocktail hour is looking sexy so we want to be there and nom all the greatness therefore, first look it is!

We did one, and because of scheduling miscommunication between myself, DH and the photographer we were running a bit late. As a result I was not in a great mood, felt rushed and stressed, and it was not enjoyable.

Don't be like me. If you're going to do it, leave the day and mood out of it, and embrace it together.

I have also been debating this...my FH is a more private person and would have been fine with a very tiny wedding if not for his large family...I feel like doing a first look would give us that intimate, private feeling of *just us* but he had never heard of doing that and so we are still debating, but if possible with venue/timing, I am leaning towards it.

We want to do one, because I know the ceremony is going to go by so fast and we are going to be focusing on the task at hand. I want to have time to notice every detail and capture that moment together before we add an audience to the mix.
