Firefigter wedding

Jessica, on February 7, 2015 at 9:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

So my fiancé is a captain at his fire department. We are having a somewhat "firefighter" theme but navy and yellow colors. He and his best man are the only two guys who are firefighters and they want to wear their dress blues. I'm okay with it, but struggling to figure out what the rest of the guys will wear (colors, vest/no vest, etc).

I would go regular tuxedo, vest, pocket square. And match your colors. Have FH go with you to try them on and model for you! I've seen uniform / tuxes in military weddings. It works :-)

We were considering dark grey tuxes. Black seems so formal and my girls are in navy. I don't know if it would be weird to have the guys in grey though. My other fear is that the uniform doesn't have a vest and FH (and other guys) are unlikely to wear their jackets all night. Will it be weird to have guys in vests and husb and best man in uniform shirts (they have patches and stuff like the uniform but on white shirts).

The groomsmen don't have to wear vests.

Umm tux= formal. If you want less formal, go for navy suits.

My dad is a firefighter and he will be wearing his dress blues to walk me down the aisle . I think it will look fine with any suit you pick out that compliments your bridesmaid dresses.

My FH is a firefighter too, and 4 of the 5 GM are as well, im going to ask if he wants to wear his dress blues as well. His one brother is not, so Im not sure If hed just wear a suit or what, and I dont know if the other guys would want to wear their dress blues too.

Gray suits and navy dress blues go great together, even better than black suits and navy. My dad wore his AF dress blues and all of our groomsmen were in light gray and husband was in dark gray. I like your theme too. I imagine my brother (whenever he pops the question) will want to do this too. So excited for you. Congrats!

Your wedding is getting close. What did you decide? We are also doing firefighter themed as we are both on the dept. We are both wearing our dress uniform top for the reception (ceremony is a whole different theme). Our uniform does not include a jacket. Two of theGM are firefighters that will wear dress top as well. For the non-ff GMs they will wear white dress top and black bottom so essentially the same shirt with no patches/badge
