I feel so overwhlemed with finding a venue I have been to like 15 venues and either I'm expecting too much or I just cant find the venue thats perfect for us. I found like two but was turned off once they advised that I had to use their vendors for everything. Maybe I just feel like if its my day and I'm spending this much money I should have the ability to choose a DJ I know I will like and food I know for a fact will be a hit.

There are venues that don’t require you to use their vendors. Where do you live? Look for venues by the company 828. They have a few in different states and they have an open vendor policy so you have complete freedom. Mine also has no curfew and allows dogs so it’s pretty great!

Make a list of all you Do Want and all you Don’t want in a venue.
Rank those things into a top 10 list. Use that as a checklist for more visits.

Talk to the places and see if they can allow outside vendors. Some have a preferred list, some have a MUST list and some don’t really care...
I’m sorry that you’re frustrated and the right venue IS out there!

If I were you I would call or check online first to make sure you can use your own vendors before going out to look so you won’t be disappointed if you love the place.

I'm in the same position! It gets frustrating, especially since you can't move forward with anything unless a venue is booked. We're having a really tough time finding something that fits our budget and is the vibe we're going for. There are venues that allow you to choose your own vendors. Just keep on looking, you will find something perfect! (I have to keep telling myself that as well.)
