Feeling self-conscious in my wedding dress/what to wear outside for pictures in cold weather

Marla, on October 3, 2019 at 1:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I’m feeling kind of self-conscious about how I look in my dress, but have been not able to find a shrug or bolero that matches with my dress. For those of you getting married in the fall or in cold weather and are taking photos outside and also doing a first look, what are you pairing with your wedding dress?

I am wearing a Scottish tartan shawl. And my bridesmaids will also get just plain shawls. I found some very beautiful and cheap ones on Etsy! You could also wear a faux fur shawl or small jacket.

My daughter was married last November and had plans to take outdoor photos for their first look and wedding party shots. However it was below freezing that day and she didn't want to subject her friends to that so they did their first look and photos in the church instead. They ended up with some gorgeous shots by a stained glass wall. During cocktail hour, they ran outside for literally like 5 minutes to grab some quick photos which came out amazing! She had bought her girls and herself pashmina scarves which helped to keep them a little warm anyway.

I love the way fur shawls look for winter weddings! There's a bride on here who had them for herself and her bridesmaids and the pictures are SO gorgeous, almost makes me wish I chose to have a winter wedding (but I HATE the cold lol)

You can find these on Amazon I believe and also Etsy!

You're so cute! I'm a January/Wisconsin bride and I think I'm going to get a faux fur wrap. There are some beautiful ones on Etsy in a range of colors. I have spaghetti straps and was feeling very self-conscious about NOT having sleeves. But the sleeves on a wedding dress are not going to keep me any warmer! Getting pashminas or something for my bridesmaids. Seriously though, tons of options on Etsy for all kinds of ideas!

I really wanted to buy a faux fur shrug or bolero, but there are not too many sellers on Etsy that offer plus sized ones.

Definitely get a pashmina! You could get it in your wedding colors and it would be beautiful!

I wore a vintage stole I purchased on Etsy and bought my bridal party faux fur wraps as well.
