Feeding bridal party on the weddding day

Dr.sBoss, on September 27, 2017 at 4:39 PM Posted in Planning 5 50

Are y'all having food for your bridal party before the ceremony on your wedding day? If so, what are you providing? My DOC mentioned Panera bread, but I was thinking more of the finger food route. Any ideas?

I picked up breakfast pastries and yogurt for the morning and just did a large order of Jimmy John's sandwiches for lunch. I also did fruits, veggie tray and protein bars for them to grab at their leisure.

We fed our bridal party all day lol. We got Panera bagels, fruit, coffee and mimosas for breakfast, had lunch catered from a local cafe, and had snacks and wine/beer on the party bus.

Bethyonce that's a great idea. I was thinking something similar. Not too carb heavy though. And my BM is a vegetarian so there's limitations there as well

We're all going out to brunch and then I'll have a bunch of snacks around. We are currently thinking fruit tray, veggie tray, cheese + crackers and probably summer sausage.

I had pastries, granola bars, fruit, falafel wraps, and drinks the morning of. Panera is good too. It depends on what time you're all getting ready, or maybe ask and see what they'd like.

We are getting ready at the hotel so we'll probably just order a bunch of pastries and bagels for breakfast and some sandwiches and stuff for lunch.

I plan on feeding the bridal party morning and afternoon. I haven't decided 100% what it will be.

If you're not considering it, definitely consider feeding them. I was in a wedding where we didn't have time to eat because of the schedule of events, and let me just say that sucked.

I had bagels and fruit delivered for breakfast as well as sandwich trays and salads for lunch from a local deli. Saved on having to use room service and the obscene upcharge hotels add on to their sometimes mediocre food. In terms of food, think filling, variety and digestion (lol). My girls came to my room at 8:30a. And the ceremony wasn't until 5:30. There was no way they (or I) weren't going to be feed.

There was a breakfast buffet in the hotel where we stayed, and then somebody ran out and got chicken fingers and onion rings for lunch, which was just what I needed.

I bought coffees, espresso, different milks, an array of fruit, nuts, seeds, low-GI banana carrot bread, greek yogurt parfaits, mini bagels, different nut butters and jams, lots of bubbly and a mix of different fruit juices. Around lunch time my dad stopped by because I stupidly left the wedding bands at home and brought us hummus and veggies, salad, and some mini-sandwiches.

I got some gourmet bagels from our favorite local bagel place and fruit salad. The girls also brought coffee, champagne and OJ, muffins and a veggie tray. We kinda just snacked on that throughout the morning!

I am definitely planning on feeding the wedding party day of! I have been in weddings where they did not, and we were so busy day of with appts, getting ready, and pictures that it was hard to go off on my own to do so. My DOC mentioned how important this is, and even said they have had a few bridesmaids pass out during the ceremony over the years due to not eating and only drinking champagne in the bridal suite. No groomsmen though. They're usually less busy and find time to eat haha.

Such great ideas everyone. Yea. We have breakfast at the hotel as well, but our ceremony is until 5:30p. I found these trays at publix so I'm thinking about doing these.

I'll probably get some fruit and yogurt type things for breakfast. Our caterer is providing lunch. I'm thinking we'll do a sandwich tray or something like that. Our venue is pretty rural so it's hard to go out and grab food. I'd much rather have it come to us haha

ETA: I wouldn't want to eat finger foods all day, so I would definitely provide a meal.

I just don't want anything too heavy for myself, and I know my bridal party feels the same. Btw. I just have a moh and bm.

Riya. Definitely going to feed them. Just don't want anything carb heavy. We all typically eat pretty similar except my bm being vegetarian.

Kayla and Riya. You both have a good point. As a pharmacist, I don't get to eat a full meal at work often. So my daily routine is snacking all day... protein shake for breakfast, almonds for snack, veggie snack, small salad, then another snack and water all day. Lol. I'll get some wraps or finger sandwiches as well. Thank you. Smiley smile
