I don't see a problem but what's your opinion? I don't think bride wants her daughter to do this but doesn't want to be the meanie. But that's just a guess.

Yeah, I've never seen the garter thing. Sounds kinda creepy, IMO.

But, little girls are always in it! That was my favorite part of weddings growing up.

I caught my much older cousin's bouquet at her wedding in 1974 (I didn't look 13, but I was), I have to admit that I was thrilled, felt like a celebrity, and kept that bouquet wrapped in plastic for years. Funny, I don't remember a garter being placed on my leg, but then again, that was absolutely the right move.

Some women find the entire tradition offensive; some women don't. If you DIL wants to include a child, I don't see any problem with it -- although I'd have a big issue with the garter placement that usually follows.

I didnt read the rest of the comments.. I think its totally fine! I always went as a kid.

A kid caught my bouquet and she was SOOO thrilled! Lol and a 13 year old boy caught the garter.

I have never heard of, nor did we do, the tradition of the guy putting the garter on the girl. Our photographer just got some group pics of us. Smiley smile
