What is/was your favorite part of your wedding? Was there something you as a guest at another wedding just feel in love with and a *must have*?

What gets your guests still talking about your wedding/another wedding about how amazing something was?

Same questions but this time what was absolutely cringey at a wedding that you went to as a guest? Something that made other guests horrified/still talking about it to this day?

*As for myself FH and I LOVE swing music. Thinking of our first dance being an actual dance like on Dancing with the Stars. But I don't know if that will either be amazing, or come off as tacky.

The only cringe worthy thing I've seen at weddings (and haven't seen in a while) is the bouquet toss. The best thing was a huge outside firepit

I don't think anything cringe-worthy (from a guest perspective) happened at our wedding. I wish we would've paid more attention on how to bustle my dress so it didn't look like I had a shelf on my butt, though.

My personal favorite part as a guest is seeing the groom's face when he sees his bride all dressed up for the first time. First looks have kind of ruined that (but have other benefits, so you do you!). DH and I didn't do a first look so that second I turned the corner to walk down the aisle and saw him was one of my favorite parts of the day

Most cringe worthy as a guest was DH's cousin's wedding. It was a Catholic wedding so they sat in chairs on the altar platform, but awkwardly on opposite sides of the actual altar table (bride and MOH on guest's left, groom and BM on right). The bride was glowing and kept trying to catch her husband's eye. Groom looked bored and almost like he fell asleep during the readings. Everyone still talks about how not excited he looked even a year later.

Nothing was my favorite at our original wedding. I mean our daughter looked cute but that was like, it, lol. Most cringe-worthy is hard to choose from, but probably the whole garter/bouquet mess. My uncle smelled the garter when he caught it. Not casually, huge sniff. My husband's very sweet great aunt got the bouquet, he winked at her, and she immediately passed it to someone else. My SIL also brought a random bowl of gross mayonnaise-y pasta salad because she thought it was potluck for some reason. She insisted it sit on the buffet table and she was really upset no one ate any. She mentioned it in her speech.

At other people's weddings, I always choke up during vows. And sometimes first/dad/mom dances. I love when there are fireworks.

My least favorite parts of weddings in general are gaps between ceremony and reception, and of course the tosses. And Jordan Almond favors. Oh, and throwing rice/whatever on the couple as they leave, I'm glad that's not a big thing anymore.

FH's cousin's reception was on the lawn at their church mid-July. No music, no alcohol. The food was cold cuts pretty much, which were laid out in the heat for hours. I guess it was meant as more of a quick lunch after the ceremony and not a traditional reception, but the bride and groom were taking photos while this was going on and weren't even around until people were leaving.

    Besides this, long boring speeches.

My favorite part is always when the bride and groom first see each other during the ceremony!

Cringe: the bar ran out of beer and had to go to the gas station up the street

Most memorable: I usually have a ton of fun out on the dance floor

Best part as a guest is the DJ. Music/vibe makes or breaks a wedding for me. I know people say good food is crucial, but I never remember the food at weddings. Cringe-wise, I always remember awkward/too long/inappropriate speeches.

Oh and I love the first kiss and when the couple walks back down the aisle after the ceremony.

Favorite part is what everyone else has said - the moment the bride/groom heads down towards their partner. I get teary eyed even thinking about the last one I was at. It's the excitement in their faces and you can't help but be so happy in that moment for them.

Cringe worthy would be the bouquet toss (I've always conveniently been in the bathroom or otherwise occupied when these happened in the past) and the dollar dance. I've actually only seen that once and I didn't really know what it was so that's more of a looking back cringe. I'm ok with long speeches unless they get too insider-y then it's a little bothersome.

The favorite part of my wedding was the ceremony with my DH. I loved that it was just the 2 of us.

The things people raved the most about for mine was my dress and the father daughter dance. We took lessons to learn the waltz and people actually did watch when they said the formal dances are usually time to hit the bar typically lol.

Most cringeworthy was a time the bride got so drunk she was throwing up in the lobby as people were leaving.

Another where the groom did a strip tease for the bride after the garter toss. And any wedding with really long or awkward speeches.

Favorite parts are seeing grooms face as bride walks down aisle, bridal party entrances if they do something fun or unique, and of course having good food and open bar.

Faves: ceremony/vows, seeing the bride walk down the aisle and the groom's face. dancing, good drinks and a variety of good food during cocktail hour is a must.

cringe worthy: waiting for three hours in the air conditioned (thank God) tent with cheese and crackers until the BP was done with pictures.

Mashed potatoes that were definitely from a box.

    no late night snack.

    dry weddings/no dj.

they had a tent outside for the reception, and a cupcake display for "dessert". I had a cupcake and so did my FH, and both of our cupcakes had ANTS in them....like many many ants. And that was the only dessert, no wedding cake or other sweets at all. That was super disappointing- and cringe worthy.

    ETA: ants.

As a guest I went to a wedding where the ceremony was over an HOUR late outside in the middle of July. By the time the bride walked down from what seemed like a mile walk everyone was over it and ready to get into an air conditioned building. On top of that the ran late for photos so the reception didn't start for another hour.

Once the reception started the bestman did a over drawn speech which was a per-recorded of an reenactment of him and the GM phone call when he first met the bride the cringe worthy party was having a different song play for every emotion the groom felt. This speech had to be about 10 mins!!!

Typically the dance floor opens once the bride and groom have their first dance at least so i thought, well the couple didn't do their first dance until up to the reception was over leaving us with about 30 mins of dancing.

Hands down the worst wedding I have experienced!!!

Favorite moment: at a friend's Catholic wedding was having his numerous nieces and nephews walk down the aisle during the singing of Ava Maria, each with a single white rose that they placed in a vase on the altar - it was such a beautiful way to include them all in the mass

Cringe worthy: Best man's speech at my cousin's wedding where he insinuated she "got around" by having all their male friends come up one by one to give her back their key to her apartment - was supposed to be a joke but just came off poorly

The most cringeworthy thing I've seen at a wedding was the groom getting suuper drunk before dinner was even finished. I felt awful for my friend, the bride. He was completely out of it for the entire night and everyone just avoided him. I don't think I even saw the bride interacting with him. I've already told my FH that I will punch him in the face if he does that to me.

The garter toss is always cringeworty, that was my biggest request to remove for our reception and my wife agreed. Every wedding I have been to that does that I leave the room for awhile.

    Cringeworthy:

-FH's cousins wedding had an open bar, but they ran out of moscato halfway through the dinner.

-An old friend of mine had a wedding at a Plantation in a beautiful garden area. The one detail they didn't take into affect was chairs. The DJ also screwed up the processional too which pissed the bride off.

    Cringeworthy:

    1) A reception with no music. It was very awkward and we left after dinner because we didn't know what else to do

    2) Said dinner was build your own sandwiches (like with store bought sandwich meat and non temperature controlled mayonnaise

    3) Different wedding surprised guests at reception by explaining that if they wanted to eat they had to pay for their plate. Also drink anything other than water (pop or coffee) you had to pay as well

    Favorite:

    1) The two year old ring bearer trying to play tag when he was supposed to walk down the isle.

    2) Dancing

    3) My friend had a bouncy house at their wedding for all the kids. By the end of the night we were all drunk and having a blast bouncing in it lol

My favorite thing that we're probably stealing is my friend planted a small tree as their unity ceremony using dirt from their respective parents' houses. I know we don't need anything, but I would at least want something I can actually display

@Richard not as many as you'd think. But it's been 3 months we all still bitch about the shit show.

They told their parents and Bridal party about paying. The rest of us were unaware. Me and my group of friends did leave. All of my fucks were gone.

Hmm let me think because I haven't had my wedding yet but..

Favorite part of a wedding was dancing the night away with all my family members and even though it was a dry wedding, I didn't care because I was 13 I couldn't drink anyways lol

wedding that made me cringe worthy...that same year I was a bridesmaid in my uncles wedding and the dress that they had me, my mom, my cousin and the maid of honor in was not flattering at all, the cake was dry, the food was sour and the bride did not smile. at all. I glad she was only in our family for 6 months after that (he is my favorite uncle, I am biased.lol)

Cringeworthy: running out of food and/or alcohol. Was a bridesmaids in a friend's wedding and another BM and I went to freshen up after the ceremony and some last minute photos. Got to talking probably for a little too long, but went back to the reception and there was no food left.

Also, I guess it might have a been a combo of a poor DJ and a not so lively crowd, but nobody really up and dancing, just kind of sitting around.
