Faux pas to wear wedding shoes before wedding?

Justine Anne, on February 23, 2016 at 2:54 PM

I really want to wear my wedding heels to my shower. A: They would look really cute with my shower dress. B: I want to wear these things more than once. Is this bad luck or something?

I never heard about this being bad luck??

I want to wear mine to break them in. I don't wear dress shoes very often, so I want to wear them around the house and maybe to the shower/rehearsal.

I would actually recommend it to break them in. I wore mine every time I could to make sure I didn't get blisters on my wedding day!

The last thing you'll want to deal with on your wedding day is a blister from not breaking your shoes in. Just be careful to keep them clean.

Umm heck no! I am buying "Gene" from Badley Mischka and you can bet your bottom dollar those shoes are going to be worn to every prewedding event. I'm not spending that kind of money on shoes to only wear once, and that way they get broken in and my feet get used to them.

Sweetheart, if I could wear those shoes, I'd be prancing all over my wedding shower in them, and when I wasn't prancing, I'd be sitting with my legs crossed (with one foot slightly swinging) so that everyone would notice them. Unless you're wearing a tea length gown, the majority of your wedding guests will never notice your shoes (people say that they don't remember the chairs they sat in at a wedding, but the one thing I honestly never remember is what the bride was wearing on her feet).

Wear them proudly and realize that your shoes, and when you wear them, have absolutely no impact on your life -- for better or worse.

The shoes I wore were the same shoes I wore when I was a BM in my BIL's wedding. Nice, comfy and broken in.

    Thank you everyone!

I was just curious if it was like the "groom seeing your dress beforehand" thing, etc.

Will definitely be wearing them to the shower! (: ...and maybe to a dinner for the bachelorette weekend!

    Gotta get some use out of these puppies (;

Break them in around the house, and if the soles are leather or have no tread, SCUFF THEM UP on rough concrete.

Mine are too recognizable and also since my dress is tea length I don't want to wear them until the wedding. Afterward I will. :-) also they have ivory sections and I don't want to get them dirty.

I didn't have a shower, but I wore mine to the rehearsal. I would have worn them to any showers or bachelorette parties, too

I wore mine for my shower and for my rehearsal dinner. No one will get to see them at the wedding anyway.

@Justine I love your shoes! I am looking for that type of blue heel. It is one of our wedding colors. How much were they?

You need to break them in or your feet will be dying on the wedding day. I wear mine around the house a lot and feel very glamourous while vacuuming...

I think you should break them in so your feet aren't killing you the day of the wedding

It would be a good idea to wear them and start breaking in. That way you also know if there are any pressure points to add padding.
