Okay seriously -- how do people pick these things?! PLEASE spam with your song. I'm having the hardest time and maybe shouldn't have pushed it off so long haha.

So my dad died a couple years ago on New Years. It was totally unexpected and we had a strained relationship at best. My stepdad, who's been the most kind, stubborn, accepting and challenging (in a good way) man I could ever ask for will be dancing with me! He's not very emotional, but he will be about this. But we don't like have "a song" and all the song are like "my little girl" or "since you were a baby" but like we met when I was 10 and it just feels kind of off. Idk! I'm being picky I think!

We danced to "That's How Strong my Love Is" by Otis Redding. Might be fitting for your situation.

I danced with my dad to through the years by Kenny Rogers. He danced with my grandma to that song when he got married. And wanted to keep the tradition and to honor her someway at the wedding since she passed away a few years ago.

But if that wasn't our song we were gonna do The Girl You Think I Am by Carrie Underwood.

My Wish by Rascal Flatts. I've known that's the song I wanted to dance with my dad to the moment I heard it.

Ive chosen "Daddy dance with me". It's a country song, but it's absolutely amazing if you're a daddy's girl.

"Sweet Child O'Mine." My dad wanted something we could jitterbug to and I love my 80s.

My dad isn't the super sentimental type. We're dancing to "Little Miss Magic" by Jimmy Buffett. It helps that my parents are parrot heads (and I might totally be cool with that) haha. I like it because it's not sappy but still a sweet song. It could apply to you & your step dad since it is just about watching a daughter grow up into a woman.

My dad died when I was 18. My stepdad has raised my siblings and I since my parents divorced when I was 12. He has been our rock. He walked my sister down the aisle 2 weeks ago. Our (step)dad is a big Beatles fan. He raised us to love the Beatles too. My sister chose Blackbird for their first dance. I might be dancing to "In My Life" but haven't decided yet. I found that quite a few brides have used "In My Life". It's less about the lyrics for us and more about the connection and good memories we have with all the Beatles songs.

I'm letting my dad pick and surprise me! I'm a control freak over everything else but I felt like this was his moment to personalize our moment. I'm sure the tears will FLOW but it will work for us

My dad and I are dancing to Elvis’s The Wonder of You. He’s a big Elvis fan and I love the song.

I did a lot of research before I made my decision, which was, of course, one of the first songs I thought of but I wanted to be really sure so I kept looking but sometimes it's best to just go with your gut and not get hung up on little things like particular lyrics or meaning to the song, it just has to mean something to you or remind you of your step-day in some way.

What type of music do you like? Are you and your step-dad full out dancing-types or do you plan to just sway a bit?

I chose "You raise me up " by Josh Grobin. ...it is actually a celtic hymn. My father is very active in his Catholic church. ...very devoted father of nine and I am the last to get married ...the 6th daughter he will walk down the aisle. My dad has been there for me in so many ways....and I truly want to honor him. The song is beautiful, strong, and over the top....there will not be a dry eye in the house...and I'm fine with that. ..I love it! I'm not having a religious ceremony but this is way to honor his faith....he will also be saying the blessing for the meal. I'm literally so excited for this moment!

Still haven't completely decided between The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra and What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong- I'm trying to give my dad the final decision but he keeps saying whatever I want. We're stuck in a loop.

My dad originally chose I'll Be Your Man by Zac Brown Band but now he wants Dance With My Daughter by Jason Blaine - both country choices.
