I can't decide either! I had this discussion last night with my dad and he was no help lol. I played a song but he didn't love it. I thought about Wildflowers by Tom Petty but it is just a little too fast. We might end up with "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw, but I love "Daddy's Little Girl" by The Shires.

You could do "He didn't have to be" by Brad Paisley. It's about how a his step father came into his life and took that role of father for him. It's a great song for your situation

I've always joked about our father daughter dance being the chicken dance, from the time I was very little. It won't be, but we are playing about 30 seconds of it before our actual song. I love my dad, I know I'm going to cry as soon as the song comes on, so hopefully the good old chicken dance will postpone the tears for a couple seconds.

Our actual song is It Won't Be Like This For Long by Darius Rucker. I was adopted, and when my parents brought me home they were SO excited. They invited over all of their family and friends, and they were in their glory. Fast forward a couple hours and I wouldn't stop crying and they couldn't figure out why- I was hungry, and they had no formula! So they loved the line "one day soon we'll look back laughing at the week we brought her home"

And as expected, couldn't get through the post without tearing up thinking of our dance :p

My parents had me very young. So when my mom got pregnant Kenny chesney's song "There goes my life" was coming out. From then till now my dad always says this is our song so that's what I'm using.

I asked my dad to pick our song. It's his moment with me on my wedding day.. I don't want to know so he put it in a sealed envelope so I can hand it to my DJ and hear it on that day.. my only surprise that day

My dad was so touched I trusted him to have that responsibility to pick something beautiful for us

We didn't do any of the usual dances for various reasons, but i've always liked Father And Daughter by Paul Simon, it's a very sweet but not too sentimental song. In My Life by the Beatles is also one I've seen for parent-child dances before.
