I have having such a hard time picking a song, I looked through the list on here a sooooo many times. Nothing seems right! I don't want anything super cheesy or over done.... what are some of your father/daughter songs?!

My dad really wants to dance to "Besos de Mariposa" which is the Spanish version of "Butterfly Kisses".

My friend danced to "What a Wonderful World"

I'm having a hard time with this too Bethany! But I asked my dad to think of songs since he may have an easier time coming up with something sentimental to him.

We are using " Dance with Cinderella " by steven curtis chapman as the words are beautiful and it fits my victorian fairytale theme. But i think you should find one that speaks to your relationship with your father. Remeber this is the day that all your guest will get a glimpse of the love you two shared from a little girl till now so make it count

@Ruth - I thought about doing that song (Dance With My Father) since my dad passed 6 years ago. But since I will be dancing with my youngest son (16), I think we are opting for Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. I have asked my son to pick a son, but he says he is good with whatever I choose. I had always wanted to dance to Butterfly Kisses with my Dad, but I can't listen to it without crying anymore because I never got the chance to.

My first post on WW was about this very topic. My father and I have a contentious relationship and he has not supported my wedding one iota, but I still feel the need to have the father daughter dance for some reason. I picked "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" by Sam Cooke. It basically says - you can be an asshole and I will still love you, but the melody is really beautiful so people won't even bother listening to the lyrics.

I picked the song Walk With You by Edwin McCain. It took me awhile to find a song I liked, as I didn't want it to be religious and I'm not a big country fan so any song like that just wouldn't be me.

I had picked the song "Aubrey" by Bread because that is how my father chose my name.. However my dad wants to go for the super cheese and do "Somewhere over the rainbow"-- the original version with Judy Garland.. just so he can cry his eyes out.

My Father/Daughter dance is going to be You've Got A Friend- James Taylor. I remember when I was younger my dad use to sing that all the time so I thought it was good. :-)

My dad picked mine and I just found this out today lol. It's not at all what I would have picked or expected him to pick, but I thought it was so sweet that he actually thought about this and had an opinion so that makes it even more special

It was a little tough for me. Once I chose my song I knew it was it because my heart told me. I chose my little girl by Tim McGraw. Once I heard it I just tested up because it just spoke my father and my relationship. All I have to say is let your heart choose

I personally like when people choose a song that means something to them rather than just a traditional pick off a list. I think that makes it more meaningful. Think back and is there a song you and your dad really liked to sing along to together or something? Or a song you danced to another time? A song that really fits his personality?

My dad and I are dancing to a Buffett song because we are huge parrot heads and it really fits him well plus we have so many great memories singing along to Jimmy!!
