Fall wedding

I’m getting married on 10/24/2020 and just received the save the date cards today, however my family feels we shouldn’t send them out yet due to what is going on and the concern that we may have to postpone and can’t finish planning and booking vendors, etc. What are your thoughts? What is everyone else doing when it comes to planning for a fall wedding? Thanks all.

That’s my date, I plan on sending invites around July. I’m hoping we still have a wedding by October.

I sent Save the Dates back in January for OOT guests. I’ve seen people start to do electronic save the dates temporarily.

I’d still send them. I’d rather have the heads up earlier especially during times like these.

Our invitations are sealed and ready to go (waiting until July). The save the dates were mailed in February. Wedding is scheduled for October 3rd. Fortunately we hired all of our vendors prior to this pandemic.

I would continue to plan. You can send the save the dates whenever you feel like it. I think we will be ok in the next month. You should be in the clear by October.

Send them! You already paid for them and it would waste to throw them away. If you do change dates then you will have to get new ones anyways.

We sent our save the dates in February for our October 3, 2020 wedding. I am still planning on everything going according to plan.

In China, things are starting to open back up after less than 4 months of COVID 19. I am hopeful that things will be looking up in the US in the next couple of months. I am planning on sending invites out in mid-July.

So since we all have dates near one another, if it doesn’t get any better...what’s your cutoff date to cancel? I heard it would go until like August so I’m a bit nervous.

Most of the time, if the majority of guest are local or within driving distance, they don't need much advance knowledge. The last thing most people want now is to hear about something they are going to have to spend money on. No airlines are making any bookings that cannot be changed and changed again by them, but they will not let customers do that. Fliers pay a penalty. So ask yourself how many people need to know before 4 months out? Send Saves just to them now. Other, hold off til you see what is happening. Once you s
end a save, you are committed to invite someone. And unless you have a crystal ball, I don't know how we will know about this until we see if like most respiratory viruses, this cuts way down in warmer weather.
