Fall wedding postponed to Feb

Sonya, on June 28, 2020 at 10:32 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

Ugh I am so sad for having to postpone our wedding from Nov 7th 202 as this date held a special meaning for us... FH was adamant about it do to the Covid cases are on the rise again here in Florida. I have planned for almost 2 yrs buying this and that for decorations, center pieces and so on but all of it leans towards a fall theme.. pine cones, maple leaf table numbers, white pumpkins and so forth.. Now we are getting married in Feb and I just don't have it in me to even try to think of a new theme.. idk if it will be weird having fall like theme in Feb or if I should change it up... I feel like I've wasted money if I change the theme. This covid stuff has messed up so many weddings this year... P.S. I don't want to postpone till Nov 2021.. I am ready to get this wedding over and marry my soulmate.. I would just cancel it if I wouldn't lose money from non-refundable deposits and also FH WANTS to have a wedding.. we've both been married before but he never had a wedding 😢 Thanks for letting me rant

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. You can have a fall theme if that's what you want. You and your FH should have all the bells and whistles you want for your day. ::hugs::

Thank you... Fall is my favorite time of the year and it's also when we met and started our relationship.. Our original wedding date would have been the 5 yrs anniversary of meeting.

Awww I understand. Fall is my favorite, too. My youngest daughter's birthday is November 6th and mine is November 8th. Your dating anniversary is right between them 😊

I completely understand how you feel! I just posted a similar discussion about our 11.28.20. My FH also wants a wedding but with loss of income and Florida Unemployment not sending checks, we are cancelling completely.

2020 sucks.... COVID-19 sucks.... postponing sucks!!! We went from October 2020 to October 2021. Thankfully no theme and no seasonal decor. So everything can be easily transferred to whenever. But in your case, I would sell the Fall decor and simply select colors (and not a theme) for February.

That's unfortunate but the day will come! We've had to postpone a couple times as well (pre covid) so we'd hate to have to do it for a 3rd time. We're getting married in February also but you can definitely do whatever theme or colors you want. There's no written rule on what you should do for your wedding. No matter what, I'm sure it's still going to be a wonderful experience of a lifetime!

I’m so sorry Sonya. Sending you lots of virtual hugs!! ❤️

You can add a lighter decor element or two if you want to make things look a little more spring-like, but I’d just stick with the decor you already have and love!
