Fall colors, summer wedding?

The Awesome Thief, on October 14, 2009 at 2:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I'm getting married in June but my FH and I love fall colors. Would it be weird to have our main colors as red, orange, and yellow with cream and green as our accent colors?

I think you should have whatever colors appeal to you and not worry about what the season is. Whats most important is to make your wedding how you want it to be with the style that suits you. I think those colors are gorgeous altogether by the way.

Sounds very pretty. The colors are vibrant enough for summer and the green & cream will compliment beautifully Smiley smile

I also agree that you should have the colors that are important to you, don't let the season dictate!

Thanks! When I told my MOH she was like, "You know you're wedding is in June, right?" Which is why I asked if it would be weird.

These colors can be used year round and are very hot right now!

go to my website for some floral inspirations, you will see many in your colors!

Just leave out the Fall foliage and add in things like soft varigated Ivy or springy ferns for a softer look.

A perfect rose for your wedding the circus with its red orange outer petals and vibrant yellow inner petals, also adding in creme Vendulas and possibly sunny Mokara orchids would give a color punch without the fall heaviness.

    Have fun!!

I'm also having a summer wedding and planning on the same colors as you. You can check out the inspiration photos on my profile page. The first one is from stylemepretty.com and it has pictures of flowers and table settings from a summer beach wedding. I've heard some comments from my aunt about my colors being being fall colors and too dark for summer, but I think as long as they are bright enough they look summery. And it's my wedding, so there Smiley smile

I was thinking about having calla lilies colored orange and yellow for my bouquet with red roses. Then for my two maids of honor I was going to do red roses, orange daisies, and yellow calla lilies.

I think those colors would be just fine. I am doing red, champagne (or light gold) with pink accents for a fall wedding. So I think whatever u and FH want is fine. Good luck hun!
