Fall colors for Spring wedding?

Karen, on January 7, 2020 at 12:13 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15
We wanted a Spring wedding and instantly started thinking of my favorite colors, Burgundy, navy blue, and blush. My MOH already got a burgundy dress and like a month later I realized my colors are more for a fall wedding. Idk how I feel about it but everything is planned around those colors already and my MOH already has a burgundy dress. I guess I'm just afraid about what people are going to think? I'm already having a Thursday wedding and I'm also having my colors reversed ? Lol I'm proud overthinking

You’re totally fine to use “out of season” colors. I’m having a summer wedding and my colors are Burgundy and Olive haha. If you like the colors, go for it. Most of your guests won’t even notice.

Honestly, the only time I have ever paid attention to decor and color schemes at a wedding was when I started planning my own. Before that, I'd go to weddings and just think "yay love!" Lol. Also, I don't think colors necessarily have a season. If you love it, go for it, especially since your MOH already got a dress.

You're overthinking. Smiley smile I'm getting married the first weekend of spring with jewel tones and a charcoal dress. If people dont like it, they don't need to stick around for the free beer. 🤷‍♀️

I've only been to one wedding and I didn't really pay attention to the decor so I'm guessing you're right! 🙃

Even if people noticed, theyd forget shortly after. the pictures will turn out stunning and nobody, including yourself, will look back on the photos and say "hey, those colors didnt match the season". it is probable that you will be the only one to notice. the day is about you, not your bridal party and not you guests. i wouldnt worry at all. itll turn out beautifully 💓

My colors are amethyst, mauve, light pink, and white. The men are wearing navy blue. My mom chose a navy blue dress and my sister chose a hunter green dress. My wedding is in April....totally fine to do fall colors.

Keep your favorite colors, just think about how proportionately you use them. For example, if you want a softer, spring feel then use more blush and have burgundy as the accent color. Some brides want their MOH to stand out, so her having the burgundy dress along side the right shade of blush for bridesmaids could still work.

So much of this is similar to my wedding! We are doing blush, burgundy, deep purple colors for our April wedding (in North Carolina) and it is also on a Thursday. I think burgundy and deep purple are romantic so I just think of it as a formal evening event not like it’s “spring” or “fall” colors. I’m an over thinker myself and I’m not worried at all that people will criticize my color choices

It's your wedding. It's fine. I am having the reverse. My wedding is in the Fall, but I am having a Spring color (Lilac).

Nobody is going to think about those being typical fall wedding colors. All eyes will be one you and your future spouse! The main things guests remember about your day are the food quality and the music.

I’m getting married in June and my colors are burgundy gray and blush. I was told the same thing, these colors are more later summer/fall but we both fell in love with the colors and we are sticking to it! If you love the colors, go with it!

Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. I'm having a winter wedding but using bright summer colors. Do what makes you happy.
