Fall 2021 wedding... where to start??

Ashley, on August 9, 2019 at 3:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hello, all!

I’m a newbie to Wedding Wire & feeling slightly overwhelmed with all of the information available to me! Seeking advice on where to start in planning for a wedding that’s a little over 2 years away.

A little backstory- not officially engaged yet but my FH & I already know we want to get married on our 8 year anniversary which is 9/4/2021. Since it’s the Saturday of Labor Day weekend I know I should probably start calling venues & vendors such as a photographer/videographer to get pricing & see if they are already booking up this far in advance. I just don’t know where to start since I’m new to the wedding planning scene! Any advice would be appreciated! 😊

Congrats on your (upcoming) engagement! Its such an exciting time!! I'd say if you know 100% thats the date you both want, get booking now. I know when we started planning, some of the vendors we wanted were booked up for 2.5 years! If you're both on the same page and thats the date, get looking. And enjoy it, it goes so quickly and its such a gorgeous time of your life!

Hi, we are getting married July 31, 2021. We have done booked our venue, catering, makeup/hair, dj, and photography. The good thing about booking this far in advance is asking to sign a contract and locking in the price for this year. My catering said after the end of this year it would be about 400-500 more and the venue said they would be going up maybe 1000.00 more. TobeWed is right it does fly by!

I would start with your budget and venue. You have a good amount of time to save which will help so much. I would look at venues soon too because September is a peak wedding month and with the holiday you want to make sure that day will be available if you two are set on that. Good luck and happy planning!

Venues are the first to book up, so start there! Then you can move on to other vendors from there.
