"Fake" Ring

I bought a similar looking ring to mine from Groupon and I wear the fake one on vacations to the beach and our honeymoon. It was more for peace of mind and I definitely recommend it.

I just keep mine on.I understand the fear of losing my ring on vacation but if it fits right it shouldn't get lost

And if I'm in a location that I feel at danger of getting my ring stolen I twist it around so the diamonds can't be seen.

Soo... I was proposed to with a CZ ring. FH called it a "placeholder" ring (the fact that he did that research was adorable). It looked exactly like the ring he personally built off a diamond website that was sitting in his cart. He got it because I'm super picky with jewelry and in case I didn't like the design, he had a ring to propose to me with and said he could take me out to find whatever ring I wanted. He was crazy to think I'd want anything else besides what he chose from his heart! When he showed me what he built online, he let me adjust any of the 4C grades if I wanted.

So now I have a fake ring to wear on vacations and shifts at the restaurant (more so for fear of getting lost or dirty than for getting stolen). I found out that this "fake ring" cost $200!

I have a fake one I use when I travel. For some trips me and FH have agreed that i shouldn't take a ring at all as that might still make us a target. Its up to you whoever wants a fake e-ring for their own discretion when traveling

I bought a CZ band for my honeymoon. I was less concerned about being mugged, than me just leaving it in hotel room accidentally and forgetting it since we were going to different cities every day or two.

We found a great cheap ring set on Amazon and it actually looks really nice in person. I will be wearing it on our honeymoon (versus my engagement ring and wedding band) and also wore it for my bachelorette party (because it got so crazy lol!

I don't have a fake one, but I have a silicone ring I wear when I work out, and I wore it when we went on our HM!

I wouldn't buy a fak4 ring that looked real. Like EM said a couple of pages ago a robber or mugger isn't going to appraise my ring when he assaults me.

I live and work in the city. When I'm in an area I don't feel safe in I just turn my ring around so the diamond faces into my palm and the plain band underneath shows. I take my ring off when I get home and if I go out in the evening to walk to the store by myself or to walk our dog I leave my ring at home.

If I was going to do this I would probably just buy a plain wedding band and wear that instead or invest in some silicone rings.

My mom has one because her original ring is too excessive for everyday wear and the setting makes the diamond catch on everything. It also makes her happy because she doesn't have to worry as much about losing the ring because her fake is a CZ with a cheaper gold band

I bought the silicone ones from Amazon. I wore it for vacation and wear it when doing water sports or at the gym.

No I'm not getting a fake ring. I just don't wear e-ring to work.

I have insurance on my ring, so losing or getting it stolen, it would be replaced... Would I be sad?! Yeah!! But the peace of mind is there that it would be replaced!!

I have heard of many people doing it. I don't have a plan to do it myself at this point, but it's not uncommon in my experience

I just take my rings off and go with a naked finger...I don't really see the point in switching back and forth between your real ring and a silicone one.

I'm starting to think I'm the only one that wears my real ring 100% of the time.

I wear a band that we got a few years ago with our anniversary on it.

Practical and doesn't freak me out like when I'm not wearing my ring

I bought a fake look-a-like while my ring was being held hostage at the jewelers (making a custom band to match and needed the engagement ring for 8 weeks). When I dropped off my ring, I missed it. Found its dopleganger at Macy's for $7 and now I have something to wear to the gym or on vacations I don't have to worry about getting my real ring all yucky (sweat, sand, saltwater, etc).

Yes, our neighbors got fake rings from "clairs" in the mall. They are almost exactly like the real ones.

She wears hers when the go out to bars. It even took her husband about 1 week to figure out that she was wearing the fake one. It was that close to the real one.

My coworker does this for the same reason but I swear she wears the $20 one more often then the real one
