Fake or Real Rose Pedals???

wonderful moment, on January 7, 2010 at 4:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

What are you using? I love the real but the fake are less to pay for. If you are using fake rose pedals and they look pretty real can you let me know where to get them from?

It depends on what your using them for. I plan on using real and fake. I'm buying a few bags of fake white rose petals from A.C. Moore, and I'm sprinkling those down the aisle to use as a runner. (Real can stain carpets when theyre walked on, and can't be used)

But then Im using real to scatter on the extra tables. Like the gift/card table, and the cake table, and things like that. All I have for decoration are vases with floating candles, and tealights, so I figured I's add something else for color.

Cool. I was debating to have an aisle runner. Is your wedding inside? I thought real for the tables because I know people will be playing with them and if they are not do you think they will care?

I am getting real for the flower girls to throw. I am having an outside wedding. By using real rose petals, we dont need to worry about picking anything up.

I am the same as devine2be. I am using fake for the ceremony (since we can't use real ones) and then doing real ones of the guest tables and possibly the cake table. My mom bought the fake pedals at Walmart for a really good price.

Double-check that the venue allows real or fake, some have restrictions.

My venue does not allow fake flower pedals, so I will be using real. I did want to use blue fake ones that I had seen at Michaels that were very pretty, but its a no go for me.

Why don't some venues allow real rose petals?

Maybe if you walk on them it can either stain the carpet or could be harder to clean.

I'm using fake they are alot cheaper than real and i didn't want to take the chance of having to pay for my church to clean the floor after my ceremony if in case the real ones made spots or stains in the carpet

My venue doesn't allow fake pedals because it's outside off a river, and they don't want to have you litter because it's not like you can pick them up right after you drop them and the wind can carry them away etc.

My bouquet and all bridal party flowers will be fresh. The reception flowers will be submerged in water and will be fake. I think ill have the flower girl throw fake flowers.

I'm not sure what my venue allows for the flowergirl to toss but I know that I'm going to have real petals for people to shower us with rather than birdseed or bubbles and such! Although I know how klutzy I am and I'll be the one to get a petal right in the eye or slip on one and fall! hahaha Oh well I'm taking that chance! Smiley winking

If you're oustide you'll want real ones. If you use fake you will probably have to clean them up.

I think definitely use real for the tables and centerpieces. I was at a wedding where they used fake and it took away from beautiful centerpieces. I agree with using fake for the ceremony since people will be walking on them anyway and not seeing them close up (like on the tables)

I am using fake ones on the window panels all the way around it is a big banquet hall then on the tables I will use the real petals and for the flower girl I will probably use the fake ones. I found the fake ones at Micheal's craft store... they look pretty to me.
