Aimee, on June 21, 2015 at 11:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

What is your opinion on fake eyelashes? Do you put mascara on them? I tried them for my trial but am not 100% on doing it this day of..which is Friday!!! I'm not sure if there was too much mascara or I'm just indecisive...

This is what MUA's are for. Or at least a friend that is pretty good with makeup application. I wouldn't put falsies on myself, but my MUA has such a gentle touch and the lashes she used did not bother me at all (except when the wind was blowing my veil into my face).

She did put mascara after applying.

Falsies make a HUGE difference though! Totally worth it!

Do you have pictures? I am going to get actual eye lash extensions by nova lash and see if I like them If so thats what I am going to do. They stay on for about 3 weeks. I know with those you don't wear mascara.

Yes to fake lashes! If you do them regularly use the strips, they are harder to work with if you aren't familiar. Or you can use singles for a softer look. Do your shadow first, then Put the lash glue on, give it about 10 seconds to get tacky then apply. Let them dry. Then use liquid or gel liner to hide the band or glue dots. Then use mascara so your real lashes blend with the falsies.

My MUA and I felt the false lashes looked better when I curled my real lashes and put mascara on first. After she applied the lashes it look flawless. When I put false lashes on my self, I do the same but after applying the fake lashes I curl my lashes one more time to blend in more.

Fake lashes are amazing and a little scary. My sister is a make up artist and she loves them. For a wedding I was in she actually applied double top lashes (you can kind of see them in the photo) and they look great in photos. It took a while to get used to them because they are long and at first my vision felt blurry, but after about an hour I loved them !!!

I used a false eyelashes and it looks great. If you didn't like it, maybe it was the specific style of lashes that were used. Try and get ones that look more realistic.

False lashes look great! They can be hard to learn to put on, mrjonesandme already explained the correct way to do it. I would recommend either youtubing a how to, or going to your local mac or sephora and asking them to teach you how to apply them. Once you get used to the technique, you'll love wearing them!!

I loveeeee falsies. They totally make your eyes pop in photos. I tend to put mascara on mine when I do them because I like to make them stick a little better to my natural lashes.

I love wearing them...wore them for our Epix and for the wedding. The lashes really made my eyes POP. Sure, they take a couple minutes to get used to, but before the ceremony even started I forgot I even had them on...here's a photo from my trial.

Definitely yes to fake lashes! I'd wear them everyday if I could. They make eyes look a lot bigger and brighter. When my MUA put them on, she put mascara on my lashes, applied the fakes, then put on a very light coat of mascara to blend my lashes in with the fakes.

@Moonride, I don't think those lashes look ridiculous at all! I know you're not comfortable with them, but they really do look good. I'm a very pale blonde with light lashes and I can't get mine black enough. They're almost non-existent without 4 or 5 coats of very black mascara lol.

I find that I don't use that many strip lashes on clients anymore. It closes the eyes in some cases, and feels weird to the person who never wears them. I now use that new extreme mascara that has two parts it's by Younique and then I do individual lashes to fill in if needed.

I love fake lashes. I don't put mascara on the fake lash because I reuse mine but I put it on my real lashes first.

Hi MrJonesandMe - how do you keep the false lashes from looking like a baby doll? My FH gets wierded out when people have them on and says all he can focus on are the lashes going up and down :-/

I used fake lashes for Halloween and felt like my peripheral vision was completely lost. It was like I had a visor over my eyeballs. Do they always feel that way or did I put them on wrong?

Absolutely a must!!! I would love to see a pic of yours... did your MUA do strips or individual lashes? You can put a little mascara on them to help them blend into your natural lashes but you shouldn't really put anything on them. The individual lashes will be less intense than the strips, see if that helps.

I have never worn them but want to for my wedding! My makeup trial is on July 3rd and I guess I will find out if I like them! I will definitely take the MUA's lead though
