How many of you announced your engagement over Facebook? Let's see how you announced! Here's what I did (the tassel is included because I was graduating with my masters in the same weekend I was proposed to)

I only posted to Facebook once and then never mentioned it again

I'm with @Nikki--I find it a little odd when people are super private on social media. The whole point of using facebook is to stay connected with your friend group. Why would you even add someone whom you didn't want to have access to what's going on in your life?

We decided to get married in June (no "proposal"), bought a ring in July, and posted a photo of the ring in early September after we had a chance to tell all the VIPs in person. Since then I've made a handful of other wedding/engagement related posts: one on our dating anniversary exactly 1 year before the wedding, one on valentines day about being excited to marry this man...that sort of thing. No chatter about actually planning the wedding, since that seems a bit insensitive to discuss throwing a party many of them won't be invited to. But I don't understand the desire to hide the fact that I'm getting married and I'm happy about it.

I only have family and close friends on Facebook so I just posted a picture of us and in one of the pics I showed the ring. People eventually went crazy in the comments. I also changed my relationship status. But no huge announcement.

I actually proposed to him at his birthday dinner, so we posted this with:

I posted several pics my best friend took (while hiding in the bushes with my mom during the proposal) to Facebook; so far no one has said anything about invites or anything..

I didn't do anything other than change my relationship status three days later. Posted a picture of my ring after the fact since people asked.

After a several days we set the status as 'engaged to' . We told people first, let the word spread naturally a little, then changed. It was fun to get all the comments and read peoples excitement!

FH proposed on the day of my college graduation, so I had a similar story!

We were on vacation when FH proposed, and only told our immediate families. When we came home, I took a week or so to tell the people closest to me, and then we posted to facebook with a photo of us with champagne and a photo of the ring. No one has tried to invite themselves to the wedding or anything. I think it was the easiest way to tell everyone, since I find it really awkward to just blurt it out to people.

He posted a picture of my hand holding up a glass of wine and the ring quasi-visible with the caption, "She said yes! So proud to share our engagement."

We decided not to post on social media. We saw far too many arguments occur.

I posted a pic of the ring and I haven't posted anything else about it because there are people I just can't invite. I actually had a family member ask me when she's getting her invite and it was such an awkward convo because she isn't invited. It's truly just aunts, uncles and first cousins and I'm at my venue max.

I posted a few photos to Facebook when I got engaged back in December (My avatar picture being one of them). A few days ago I posted a video of my Fiance and I asking my niece to be our flower girl. I have not received any questions about anyone being invited or not but that could be because our wedding is not for two years.
