Eyebrows/nails 9 days before wedding... ok or not?

cjbcom, on June 14, 2019 at 2:00 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 27

I'm going to a wedding a week before my own and I wanted to get my eyebrows done and of course nails... but I don't know if I should do it 2 days before my friend's wedding or just wait until 2 days before mine.

I only go out to get them done for special occasions (I'll usually clean up my eyebrows myself and doing my nails is too high maintenance for me lol) so I'm not sure how long they'll take to grow out and if they'll look weird by the time my wedding comes.

In the end, I guess I'm asking if I get my eyebrows threaded and nails done about 9 days before my wedding, would it still look ok? Thanks in advance!!

**Technically not hair and makeup but I don't think it fits anywhere else haha

My hair and nails grow incredibly fast, so my eyebrows & nails would already start to look grown out in 9 days, lol! But that’s just me. If you decide to get your nails/eyebrows done 9 days before your wedding, you can always go in for a nail fill or for a quick eyebrow touch up 2 days before. Smiley smile

Lol! I've never really noticed how long it takes for anything to grow back for me Smiley xd I wanted to avoid going back for a touch up/nail fill because... more money Smiley cry ... but yes that's totally an option haha! Thanks!

My nails grow fast but I think even if your nails done grow fast you’ll be able to tell they were done a week ago. That’s not a bad thing necessarily, it sounds like you might like to have them done so they look new for you’re wedding. Good luck!

I would wait a little closer for your nails. Idk about you but I can see growth in my nails 9 days after getting them done, so I’m waiting until a day or two before mine to get mine done. I’ve never had my brows done so I can’t help you there, sorry!

Madison and Courtney, thank you! I’ve asked some of my friends too and looks like the consensus is to get them done closer to my wedding! Guess I’ll have to go to my friends wedding with some crazy brows and a regular manicure haha 😆

I would definitely recommend getting your days done closer to your wedding day; up to 2-3 days before.
For eyebrows, I actually like my eyebrows more a few days after threading. Idk what it is lol. So I'll probably get my eyebrows done a week before my wedding and tweeze wherever needed.

Personally I would wait until closer to my own wedding. I would clean up my brows myself and maybe paint my own nails if I really wanted them painted. Or at least make sure they are clean and shaped nice with maybe a clear coat to help protect them. 9 days seems like just a touch too long to me!

What are you planning to do for your nails? Either way you would almost definitely need to have something done to them much closer to your day. If you are doing gel, or normal polish you would just get a new manicure. If you are planning to do acrylic, they would be able to do a fill.

I would definitely wait closer to my own wedding. I would need to have both touched up/filled in within 9 days.

I get my eye brows done about every three - four weeks, so nine days is fine for me. What are you doing for ur nails? Manicure or full set? Either way I would do it before the wedding. I no longer get full/refills done but when I did it would grow a lot within a week & the space in between would look terrible. Manicure only, I would still recommend cleaning it up & applying new polish.

Since you don’t do your brows regularly, I would go ahead and get them done maybe a week out so any redness is gone before you start having wedding activity’s.

You should be fine for eyebrows. You can just clean those up after 9 days. Nails should definitely be done fresh. Normal polish will chip by then of loss it’s shine. Gel probably won’t chip or loss shine by 9 days but they will look grown out. Maybe get them 4-5 days before the friends wedding and then a day or two before yours again if you want them done for both. I get my nails done every 2 weeks

I think I'd choose to get the eyebrows done 9 days out. They'd be close enough to perfection that you could just touch them up yourself before your wedding.
As for nails, I'd probably just paint my own at home for the friends wedding, and then go have them done a couple days before my own.

Personally I would wait until the day or two before to get my nails done so they look good. With eyebrows I would do them a few days ahead in case you have any red marks.

I would wait, but if it is not in your budget to do your nails twice? If you're not IN your friends wedding don't go all out. That's just silly. Your eyebrows won't matter at someone else's event. Skip that. You'd rather have fresh brows at your event when you are most likely having close detailed photographs.

For eyebrows I think it depends how quickly yours grow back! Mine usually would look decent after 9 days but definitely not perfect. If it were me, I would probably get them done like a week or 2 before the friend’s wedding, and then would do it again 2 days before your own. As for nails,

As for nails, do you plan to get regular polish or gel or something? If you do gel, that should definitely last 9 days. I got mine done exactly 2 weeks ago from today for my wedding, and this photo is what they look like today, 14 days later. A little grown in, but not chipped at all. But still, if it were me I would honestly rather just save it for my own wedding. Maybe do your nails yourself for the friend’s wedding?

I've gotten my eyebrows threaded regularly for years. For me, 9 days is way too long. Mine grow back pretty fast so I go every 2 weeks. I also don't pluck at all since the results are better if you don't. I do have a friend that goes every 3-4 weeks so it's definitely different for everyone.

My nails and eyebrows grow extremely fast so for me they would definitely not be looking their best 9 days later. If it were me I would just clean up my own brows and paint my own nails for the friends wedding and then get everything done professionally a few days before my own. I actually had a similar issue currently. My bachelorette weekend is this weekend and my wedding is next weekend. I want to look good for both obviously but I didn't want to get them both done a week apart so I just trimmed and plucked my brows last night and cleaned up my nails. I will get everything done professionally next Friday for my wedding.

9 days would be too long for my nails. I get fake nails so they would grow out in that period of time. I think it depends how fast your nails grow!
