Hi! Just curious if anyone is planning their wedding in 6 months or less from start to finish or am I the only crazy one 😆🤷🏽‍♀️ We’ve been engaged for a while, but delayed the wedding due to finishing school, then moving due to FH career, then purchasing our first home & most importantly (sadly) the passing of our Grandmas. We’re finally doing it NYE (YAAY) and I just calculated it and we officially got the ball rolling in May/June. How’s your planning going? Are you stressed? I’m not, but I’m curious to see how it’s going for other brides who are planning in 6 months or less until the big day.

Exactly!!! I have already made a few impulse buys so to know I would have even more time to do so is actually pretty frightening! I'm doing much better, thank you. We are so excited to see him get married! Her family is already family to us and will be at our wedding.

I'm sorry I didn't include this in my original post, my condolences on the loss of your grandmothers.

Our engagement was 18 months but I did basically nothing but hypothetical planning for the first 6 months (and then ended up changing almost every single idea after that, so basically did nothing productive haha) and really only had 1 year to plan. Honestly, lots of people might think I'm crazy for saying this but I think 1 year was TOO much time. I know that's pretty average, if not on the shorter side of a lot of engagements but...... I felt like the more time I had, the more time I had to over-analyze, change my mind, be indecisive, get stressed out, etc. I started really planning like mid-May of 2018 and by mid-August I was 100% ready to just be done with everything and be married, but our date wasn't until June 2019.

Had we actually gone for it, had 3 months to plan our wedding, and done it in August 2018 would we have had a totally different wedding than what we had in June 2019? ABSOLUTELY. Now, I find it difficult to say I "regret" anything about the choice we made to keep it in June 2019, because we had the most amazing day. So do I "regret" waiting, I guess no. But would I have regretted doing it in August 2018? I doubt it, honestly. It would have been very different, but probably equally as wonderful, in different ways. AND I wouldn't have been stressed about it for a whole year!

You can totally do it in 6 months!!!

Thank you. My father is really fond of my FH and he absolutely wants to be there to see his “son in law” become an official part of our family, that’s the most important part! The car accident put everything on hold for sure! We’re a lot better now, I’ve got the most amazing specialists who are basically like “You’re going to dance at your wedding” so I trust them. Your year sounds just as hectic! I’m so sorry for your loss, that’s a double-blow. Here’s to two amazing weddings! ❤️

I started 5-6 months from my wedding day the only thing I rushed to secure were venue, dj, photographer, and dress now I feel like I’m just playing the waiting game since then til now cuz it was too early for anything besides invites. Starting tomorrow I have to start calling everyone who hasn’t rsvp’d. I’m super stressed when ever I think about the week before cuz I feel like that will be the busiest, though I’m trying not to think about it too much. My family is pretty last minute for everything so what they haven’t help with so far I know they will all spring into action and help me get it all together on time. Big family 9 siblings, two kids, two cousins and mom and aunt who will not hesitate to help during crunch time😊. But why do they have to always wait til crunch time 🤪. My parents especially are notorious for this they put together 3 of my sisters weddings in less than three months!

We got engaged in January and are getting married in two weeks!

It's definitely doable, but definitely a little stressful. Having a venue that is all-inclusive (or mostly inclusive) is really helpful! I've definitely found myself doubting choices I've made and I think if I had more time, (and a bigger budget lol) I would do some things differently, but we are just excited to be married and celebrate with our loved ones, so I'm just trying to focus on that, and not whether all the little details are perfect.

Good luck! You can totally do it!

My fiance and I have been together for 6 years and I knew that if I wanted my dad to be at the wedding (he's 79 and getting more crotchety every year) that we should have our wedding this year. We made that decision in... May or June? And our wedding date is 12/28/2019.

But honestly, I feel like I'm planning this whole wedding in 3 months, because our goal is to get the majority done before we go back to school, so I'm starting to feel the stress now Smiley xd

I planned our wedding more or less single-handedly in about 7 months, and never really felt too overwhelmed! He proposed 12/23/18 but we didn't really start on anything until the new year, and we got married on 7/27/19.

The best thing to do is step away and take a few days or even a week away if you start stressing, and let yourself focus on other things for a bit! I did take a few breaks especially later on, and it was well worth the setback when I had a clear mind to focus when I came back around Smiley smile

I had just finished my online Bachelor's program at the end of last year, so it worked out perfectly that my "free time" that suddenly appeared after work could be switched over into "wedding planning time"

Hi! We got engaged October of 2017 but decided to wait on the wedding until we both finished school. FH just finished in May. We started casually throwing around ideas and dates last August. I booked a venue in December and we were planning on having a March wedding but it was just not enough time so we pushed the date to August. I think it's tougher to do in 6 months, especially because of the shorter time to save money, but I like the fact that I have less time to stress over silly details that no one will notice.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding Casey!!! How exciting! Thanks for the confidence boost! I don’t feel too stressed. I just want to make sure I do and get everything I want in time for the wedding, but you guys are giving me a lot of hope that it can get done and reminding me most important is to just enjoy marrying my best friend 😊
