Evites for virtual wedding

Jocelyne, on September 1, 2020 at 9:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Hi! Just wondering if I should send out physical invites or evites to our guests since we will be steaming the ceremony. We last minute decided to change our October wedding to sept for personal reasons but we have reduced the guest list from 150 down to 50 people and the other guests will have the opportunity to tune in via live stream. People are still expecting the wedding to be in October as we haven’t announced the changes yet. Save the dates were sent earlier this year but we held off on sending invitations because we were unsure of this whole covid situation. Being that our new date is now only a few weeks away, does it make sense to even send physical invitations for those who will be joining us virtually (those who are invited to join in person are already aware and their physical
Invitations have already been sent) ?! Is it tacky to send evites?

I do not think evites are tacky but I also think physical invites would be better for people older or not tech savvy

I don’t think evites are tacky and may actually help non tech savvy people figure out the link.

We opted to send physical invites for the live stream though. We will probably also send them through email or Facebook messenger to the older members of our family so they can just click on the link.

I think Evites are fine. We did send paper invites to stream our wedding though.

Evites are totally fine! Websites like Paperless Post are great. I also made an account on canva.com and designed an invitation, saved it as a JPEG, and emailed them out.

We will be sending paper invitations/save-the-dates with info on the wedding livestream for those whose email addresses we don't have or are not as tech-savvy.
