Ever been in a wedding bouquet tussle?

Sherraine, on June 12, 2019 at 7:00 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
I have. A friend of mine got married and during the bouquet toss I just saw it flying and next thing I know some older middle-aged ladies pushing me over for it. Unfortunately no one really got it because it got torn to pieces during the fight to get it.

I think im gonna make a second bouquet out of fake flowers. I really don't want tht to happen to mine

Have you been in a bouquet toss? How'd that go?

I heard something similar happened at my cousin's wedding, but I've never seen it get to that point. I don't plan on doing the bouquet toss because my MOHs are the only two unmarried women on our guest list. My FH has several unmarried male friends, but it seems weird to do a garter toss and not a bouquet toss to me, so I think we'll just skip both. I suppose I could make a toss bouquet (which was very common at the flower shop I worked for) and see which one of my girls gets it lol.

I’ve fought many people for a bouquet in my life 🙈😂 but usually you don’t throw your real bouquet, your florist should make you a toss bouquet.

I saw things get heated during a bouquet toss when I was a teenager. I was 16 and everyone insisted I do the bouquet toss even though I was just a teenager. The bouquet came toward me and this crazy middle-aged woman shoulder bumped me to get it. I’ve never done one since and won’t be doing it at my wedding.

At one of our friends' weddings I caught the bouquet, not even really trying. Then FH got in a tussle to catch the garter so no other dude would have to put the garter on my leg. He ended up knocked on the ground and chipped a tooth. But he got it!

That is why I hate the bouquet toss. People fighting someone getting hurt over torn up flowers.

I caught the bouquet at my aunt's wedding when I was 5 or 6, but other than that I've always stood in the back when getting pushed up. We are not doing one at our wedding, most guests are married, and it jus seems silly to us.

I didn’t throw my bouquet. I used one of my bridesmaid and yes my bridesmaid and one of my aunt fought over my bouquet. It was so funny. I personally haven’t. I used to stand close to the back on the sides because I hate the commotion lol.

My cousin had one at her wedding that turned into a 15 minute fight her MOH and another cousin wouldn't stop fighting over it. One got a handful of petals and the other got stems. No one was proud.

Her twin sister got married a couple years later and learned from that mistake and had an exploding bouquet. It was 10 tiny bouquets (2-3 stems tied) and she held them all together as one. When she threw it they broke apart and almost everyone waiting to catch it got a piece. It was really cool and there wasn't a huge fight.
