Etsy Wedding Dress

Hi!! Has anyone ordered their wedding dress through Etsy? I have a short time frame and I have fallen in love with a gown from a seller with amazing reviews. I am still nervous though. I would love to hear about your experience if you've done this and see pictures of your dress! Thanks!

I would make sure you check reviews from multiple sites, not just Etsy. Reddit has a lot threads about individual dressmakers that are pretty helpful with pictures and way more detail than an Etsy review. With that being said, I got my dress off of Etsy (Vicky Mermaid Bridal) from a seller with rave reviews, and my experience was very stressful. She finished my dress *months* late (thank goodness I ordered early), and despite my giving her my exact measurements for my custom order, she made the whole dress all one size (my bottom is bigger than my top), so the top needs significant and costly alterations to get it to fit. It was amazing seeing my vision come to life and the dress itself looks beautiful in person, but I can’t say I’m in love with it yet when I haven’t seen it fitting the way it’s supposed to. My next fitting with my seamstress is in June, so fingers crossed!! I did have my dress built custom from scratch instead of ordering one of her dresses, and based on the reviews it seems like the people who have ordered one of her actual dresses had an amazing experience. I seem to be quite the anomaly, and nothing I saw in the reviews prepared me for what I went through. Here are the pics (because of the fit I don’t have any good pics of it on me yet):

I did! What I did to make sure I had the right seller (because the pictures she used were all over multiple different scam sites) was to reverse-image search for something with the least amount of key phrases. Scam sites are more likely to say things like “floral wedding birthday quinceniera white pink flowers short sleeve” as opposed to something like “floral tulle white wedding gown”

You’ll also want to check the reviews, and more importantly, check the PICTURES from the reviews, either for that specific dress or other dresses from the same seller. If it’s the same dress on other people, you’ve probably got a winner.
