I've heard people say gaps are rude and I was wondering what people meant by that? We are having a 30-45 min ceremony at a church at 3:30, with cocktail hour starting at 5:30 at the reception venue 30 min away. Parking might also take a little while since the venue is down town. How big of a gap is too much? Will people be annoyed because our wedding goes from 3:30 - 11:30? Seems like a long day!

Fuck gaps. They're awful, you're wasting people's time and it's rude.

Best wedding I ever went to had the ceremony literally across the hall from the reception room. Literally no gap.

Same!! In my culture almost no one attends the ceremony except family and very very close friends. People usually just attend the reception! I’m going to have a 1.5 hour gap and it’s stressing me out because my guests are Hispanic but his guests aren’t, and they’re gonna wanna attend both things!

Since they need travel time from the church to the venue... What difference does it make. That's your time to take photos, adjust your clothing, refresh and then be ready to party. If it's too long of a day. They can just go home. You can't accommodate everyone!
