Extra -- we are not doing these, as we think it's a waste of money.

Extra. Unless you get them for super cheap, it just seems like an unnecessary expense.

Extra. They literally go in the garbage. It's a wedding. People know what's going to happen.

Wow, ours is far off - we are estimating a minimum of an hour and a half for our ceremony. It will be a full mass so just to get everyone through communion will probably be close to 30 minutes (thats how long it takes on Christmas and Easter - the only other days the church is that full) - and that doesnt include anything but people going to the rail and then returning to their seats.

Extra. We're having a small wedding, so definitely won't be needing them.

Definitely essential! We are doing a full mass. There are A LOT of prayers that ask for congregation responses so people will need to have what they are supposed to say in front of them. The prayer book is hard to follow if you dont know it really well (too many from this Sunday to this Sunday you must use this prayer but if you are between this other set of Sundays you are forbidden from using it and must use this other, and at other parts of the year you can use either or this third one we are adding right here). The Church also only has a couple and a couple hymnals per pew so not enough for everyone, but for the bigger attendance days (Christmas, Easter, baptisms, etc) they have a program template they use that puts in the full service coded for who speaks or what action to take, including all the music which we will use and just fill in the appropriate sections of the prayer book and the hymns we choose. We will just print them at Staples and fold them ourselves.

No idea where my initial reply went, so if this is posting twice, sorry!

As our guests enter the venue we will have a table set up similar to the picture below with someone just casually keeping an eye on it- just to make sure the line is moving and answer any questions from people. So our main guests will have the chance to "Warm" the rings pre- ceremony.

Then during the ceremony while we exchange vows the rings will be passed through our immediate family, then up through the maids and men and then to us to exchange. It shouldn't take too much time and we are very adamant about keeping religion out of our ceremony (both of our siblings are officiating- my sister, his brother) but his family is still very religious so we want them to have the time for prayers if they want.

Extra. The only reason I’m doing them (cheaply, under $30)

is we had one little girl super bummed about not being in the wedding, so that is her job to hand them out.

People don’t really care about them.

They're super pretty but extra. I doubt anyone would have used them.

Extra... But I'm doing them because we got a really good deal on the cards and I'll be printing them myself. Plus I have a large bridal party and this will be another good way for guests to know who people are as well as the flow of service.

I really like seeing a list of who's in the bridal party! It's good that you were able to get a deal on them

I was considering doing them, but only as a way to give credit to people. The processional song we want to use is a piano cover I found on YouTube and I would feel wrong using it without giving credit to the musician, so I was planning to put his information in the program. I also may hire one of my friends to be the photographer so I would love to support her photography business by advertising!

Is there another way anyone can think of to share this information without having a program?

Wow!!! This is so beautiful and I love the idea of letting guests be apart of the ceremony.

Extra unless youre doing them where they double as a fan for outdoor wedding in the summer. Tjose are the only ones I find necessary.

They are extra but we are doing them. We are having a larger wedding and have a large wedding party. 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, 5 flower girls, 2 ringbearers, and my mom, 2 aunts, father and his wife will also be walking down the aisle. In addition we will be doing some things to honored our loved ones that won't be explained out as part of the ceremony but will be explained in the program. In addition, we are having a non traditional non religious ceremony. Plus they are useful to use to fan oneself if a warmer day and outside ceremony too.

I would say these are not essential but again nice. I guess if you have a long ceremony or an unusual type of ceremony then perhaps they may be more necessary.
