Entertainment throughout the wedding?

Andriene, on August 31, 2020 at 2:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
So I know everyone does a photobooth as some sort of entertainment throughout the wedding. Does anyone else have any other ideas of fun things for guest to do? ( BTW..my venue is a ballroom soooo no outside activities!)

We will be doing a caricature artist and a tarot card reader at our reception.

I’ve also seen cigar rollers, tableside magicians, live bands, interactive bars (ie, make your own mimosas or Bloody Mary bars, etc), s’mores bars

You could do a trivia game, where guests can fill out their answers throughout most of the reception, and they have until a certain time to submit their answers. Winner gets a prize (bouquet of flowers from your florist, mini cake, etc). The trivia questions could be all about you and your fiance - anything from wedding planning questions ("How many dresses did the bride try on total?") to relationship questions ("Where was our first date?") to personal interest questions ("What is the groom's favorite style of beer?"), along with a tie breaker question ("How many wedding related items did the bride purchase from Etsy? Closest answer without going over wins!").

I really wanted a magician at my wedding. It didn’t happen but I’ve been to a wedding with a magician and I thought it was really fun

My favorite as a guest are interactive food or drink stations! Fun and people gotta eat anyway so they’re practical.

I've only seen dancing and chatting, which can be done with social distancing.
The trivia could be fun. What would prizes be?
    You could have board/card games?

So I just asked this question the other day LOL There were ideas of caricatures, to live paintings, to having your fortune told, and tarot cards (because mine is Halloween themed). I think you can have a magician or a belly dancer or some sort of juggler or a murder mystery game type thing. Balloon maker or mix and match stations. There's that game you play where who does what where they ask questions about the couple and they raise the shoe of who does it. You could do a sweet treats thing with a candy buffet or popcorn or cotton candy. You could do an advice table where guests write down advice. You could do live entertainment like a band or something like that too.

Thanks! We really wanted to think of unique ways to make sure our guests had fun. Plus, a tarot card reader just seemed to fit the celestial theme of the wedding

    We did a swordfight.

But... I recommend being trained for that. Other than that we had dancing, and a balcony over the river for those who wanted to chat.

We are having a lemonade bar (non-alcoholic) during our cocktail hour with different syrups and fruits to mix and match! We are also considering a photo booth-like station but I haven't called the guy back yet lol
