Ladies question...do you wear your engagement ring to bed? I heard you shouldn't. Something about the 5 S of not wearing an engagement ring...shower, shore, sleep, don't know the other 2. What do you all do?

I only take my ring off when I’m touching raw meat and cleaning with Lysol or bleach

I rarely take mine off and always sleep and shower with it. I take it off to put on lotion and hair products, to deep clean with bleach or other harmful chemicals, and to cook messy foods like meatballs.
A few weeks ago I went for a manicure for the first time I got engaged and left my ring at home for the first time (I got engaged 6 months ago). It was okay getting my nails done, but I felt really weird when I decided to go out to lunch after and still didn't have it on.
I take mine off when I sleep, wash my hands, shower, and work (I work in the back room of a store, opening boxes and dealing with heavy furniture and such). My ring is made a silver rather than gold, which the jeweler said is a little softer, and the prongs are long, so I don't want to risk breaking or bending anything. I already had to get the prongs straightened once. I also want to keep it sparkly, so I keep it away from soap and lotion.
I've never heard of the 5 S's. I take mine off when I'm in the shower, swimming, or doing heavy cleaning. Oh and I also take it off when I'm putting lotion on my hands. Something about the sticky lotion getting under the ring makes me squirm. I don't know why.
I only take my ring off to clean it. I use gloves for heavy cleaning with chemicals and when mixing meat. It'll be 2 years that we were engaged on Valentine's day and 4 months married with absolutely no issues.
I used to take it off when going to bed but the odds are more likely of me somehow losing it that way than damaging it somehow in my sleep. I do take it off when I shower (sometimes I forget and I guess it gets a cleaning then) and when using cleaning products, working in the yard, or dealing with meat.
Not sure what kind of sheets I have but I’ve never had a problem with snagging. I wear it all the time except while cooking ( I have a ring box it has to go into) showering and the gym....however I have a silicone wedding band I purchased to wear at the gym, hiking, beach time, etc. highly recommend getting it checked regularly but I’ve had no problems . Plus I insured both in case of anything. I rather wear mine 90%of the time to reduce risk of losing it. It only takes a moment to get disctracted (or maybe it’s just me lol).
Mine goes in it's ring box which is on my night stand right next to my bed. I only take it off when I sleep, shower and go to the gym. I'm a morning showerer so I don't put it on until after I've gotten ready for the day and I go workout at night, so the ring stays in the box until the next morning.
I take mine off for working out, the beach-if I lost it in the ocean I would never get over it! And definitely traveling-I have traveled to countries where they would cut your finger/hand off for the ring, so I have something very simple for when I travel. I take it off for sleeping, showering, cleaning and yard work and again where the simple band I have. I have a ring dish in my kitchen and in my room and place it in either of those dishes when I’m not wearing it so I don’t lose it.
I take my ring off as soon as I get home. And also don't wear it on the beach, swimming, during an exercise class (i.e. yoga), and the gym. Even though it's insured, it's only insured for lost not everyday wear and tear.
Definitely insure the ring as well. I added mine onto my home owners insurance place along with other valuables. Totally worth it!

I also take my ring off as soon as I get home. At first I wore it to sleep but I tend to clench my fists or pillow/sheets and often had indentations on my other fingers or face. It also has a super thin band and is very delicate, so I’m afraid it will snap with all the movement and clenching at night.
I take mine off to shower, sleep, really heavy cleaning, and any hand mixing, occasionally the gym, if i leave it at my apt I don't want to leave it in the locker
I never take mine off. But I do clean it periodically. I will also add that this is my second marriage. I wore a wedding and engagement band for 16 years. The only time I took it off was to mix hamburger or put my hands into something really nasty.
I only take mine off when I’m mixing food like meat or dough, cleaning the house the chemicals are horrible for it. And since I work in a NICU I only wear a band to work so I don’t scratch the babies with it.
