Engagement ring and wedding band from two stores?

Chloe, on February 28, 2015 at 3:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

My engagement ring did not come with a band. It was also customized to accommodate a couple of my requests. It's from Ben Bridge.

We're now ready to shop for wedding bands. Would you say there's any particular reason not to shop around? I do think that I'll be soldering the band to my ring. Do you think Ben Bridge would have any issues with that when it comes to their warranty/coverage on the engagement ring? Thanks for any advice!

It's really hard to know unless somebody has done this before. You would have to speak to the company on their warranty policy.

You'll probably have to talk to someone at Ben Bridge about this. I feel like if you have work done on your engagement ring by another company, your warranty will be voided... But I'm not expert, so definitely talk with someone from the company!

I just looked at their warranty on diamond rings. There are exclusions and limitations that are available upon request from a sales associate. Call the store. They will give a definitive answer.

You would have to check your company's policy/warranty specifically for soldering. However, I think its smart to shop around for a wedding band. My ring was a custom mount and bought at a small local jewelry store. It didn't come with a band. I shopped around and got exactly what I wanted on sale for less than the small jewelry store could offer me. We will also be shopping around for FH's ring!

My rings are from different stores. In my case it's only void if the ring gets serviced at a different store, so I just make sure I take it into the store it was bought in for it's inspections.

I think that they probably won't let you solder them together and still maintain the warranty unless both of the rings are from the same store and they do the soldering. The process of soldering could possibly damage the ring so that could be their reasoning. I say you buy the band wherever you get the best deal and good luck Smiley smile

I bought my band from a different store because my ring didn't come with a matching band. We just bought a separate warranty for that band - it was $89 for a lifetime warranty on everything!

It's perfectly acceptable to look around for wedding bands. And it's best to double-check. Also checkout Forever Moissanite provides stunning, high-quality wedding bands at reasonable prices.
