Engagement right before cousin’s wedding

I got engaged a few days ago. I haven’t told the majority of the family (just my and FH’s parents as we’re out of the country for a few more days). My older cousin (I’m one of her bridesmaids) was supposed to get married this month but kept postponing her wedding/postponing when she was going to give us a definite date. Her wedding is now about 3 months away. I’m on the other side of the country from our shared family and all my trips scheduled home involve her wedding/bachelorette party/bridal shower. I can only take off so much time from work to fly 1200 miles.
I don’t want to take away from her attention and excitement in the few months leading up to her wedding. But I have a very small family and I would like to let my/our grandparents know about my engagement and nuptials before their health deteriorates much more.
Is there a good way to announce my engagement without stealing her thunder?

Well first, I think your grandparents deserve to know before whenever the next time you see them is if that isn’t going to be for a while. I’d call them and share your news. As far as everyone else, unless you have certain people you want to specifically tell, id let it spread via word of mouth and then just talk to people if they bring it up.

Everyone gets a day. You get a day. Your cousin gets a day. Go ahead and announce your engagement to anyone you want to share it with. You will not steal your cousins thunder.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just announce your engagement however you would have normally planned to do it (calling people, posting on social media, etc.). My cousin is having her bridal shower the weekend before my wedding and my thunder is still mine and just fine.

3 months is a long time. From the title, I thought you were going to say that it was within the next week or so. She shouldn't expect people to put their lives on hold for 3 months.
