Emotional status and crying at wedding

Future Mrs. R Perez, on June 2, 2016 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 23

I am very emotional and I don't want to be crying all the time but I foresee this being the case. What is everyone doing to try not to be crying? Is anyone taking any supplements to stay calm or even relaxers? I don't want to be crying in all my pictures. I'm also worried about the make-up although I'm sure the MUA will use waterproof stuff. At this point everything wedding related makes me cry. what is a girl to do?

Lord. Take a yoga class, do some meditation or try some breathing techniques. Honestly, just be in the moment. It's a happy, emotional day. Cry all you want.

I've never heard of a bride take pills to stay calm or to avoid crying. :-/

    Have a glass of wine.

At my brothers wedding we all bawled our eyes out at the rehearsal and it was all dry eyes at the wedding. Maybe that'll happen to you?

I also get emotional. My plan is to have tissue on hand. It's okay to get emotional on the wedding day.

I'm going to have one drink before the ceremony but I'm a crier so it is what it is oh well. Just enjoy the day and don't worry about your makeup just tell your MUA to use waterproof everything, and anyways they know the drill Smiley smile

I will probably cry my eyes out, I'm worried about this too. Sephora has an amazing mascara trial pack (you get a free full-size mascara with the inside voucher too) that has several waterproof mascaras I'm trying out. I've also read to keep the ceremony light/humorous to avoid feeling overly emotional. My FH and I are big smartasses so I don't see this part being an issue for us.

If you don't think "I promise to love you when you're 50 and still playing video games" will show up in my vows, you're dead wrong.

I'm getting more emotional as I age so I hope I don't cry during the ceremony or when I give my speech to thank everyone. But I will let it be.

If GymRat is posting the comment is giving me life lol.

Wine would make me cry more lol so that's a no. I cry for everything especially happy tears, I plan on having my MOH carry a small thing of tissues for me. FH is writing his own vows and is excited because he knows he's going to turn me to mush and get the tears flowing. I honestly think he's be disappointed if I didn't cry. Just relax and be yourself you'll be fine.

I'm planning on crying at my wedding, I know there will be no stopping it. Especially if FH cries....I'll be done for. Embrace it.

I cry at the drop of a hat. I'm always crying. Its just who I am.

I didn't cry much at my wedding.

I had a hanky anyway, and I did use it.

What helped me, was having a first look. I took some time with DH, got my ugly cry out privately, and just being near him calmed me down immensely.

I cried again when my baby cousin (she's 30, but will always be my baby cousin) did her reading. She said a few words first and just made me weep.

ETA: I also had a moment during my dance with my dad. The song we chose was also a tribute to my best friend who passed away (it hadn't been a full year at the time of the wedding yet)...I thought of him and started crying, and asked my dad if he thought Jake was with us. He said of course he is. I'm weepy now just thinking about it.

Its ok to cry. Its an emotional day. Smiley smile

Can't help you. I keep reading(and editing) my vows thinking if i read them a million times I'll be able to get through them without sobbing but I cry every time.

I cry so easily that I get choked up watching cute animal videos. I started sobbing at our first meeting with our photographer, and just thinking about finally marrying my husband brought happy tears to my eyes. On my wedding weekend, when I saw friends and family arriving at the inn where we had all of our events, I cried as I greeted them. I thought I would be a mess on our day. However, I barely cried at all. I had so much adrenaline that it just didn't happen. I cried a few tears during our first look and I got choked up when I was saying my vows, but that was it. I pulled it together quickly. No tears ran down my face, made my nose run, or made my eyes red. You really can't predict how you will feel and how your body will react until you are in the moment.

I'm a crier but at my first wedding the adrenaline pulled me through, I got a little misty but never sobbed or even had tears rolling down the cheeks delicately. You might find that's the case for you!

I cry easily too with emotional things... like when we got engaged i think i cried for days because i was so happy and anytime someone asked me about it i would cry. My FH wants to write our own vows and he's not the real mushy mushy type but i know hearing his vows i'll be a mess. We are doing a first look to cut down on the ugly cry faces in public lol FH has a way of calming me down so i'm hoping the first look and a glass of wine will relax me and if i cry oh well it's MY wedding day damn it! I'm allowed to cry! Embrace it!!! Smiley winking

Listening to my first dance song, the song I'll dance with my dad to, and planning the wedding ceremony... All make me cry!!! I can be emotional especially when I'm happy, grateful, etc. but I'm going to do my best to just hold it in lol or take a few shots beforehand.... It will be a game time decision Smiley smile

My fiancé and I are both criers lol. I have a feeling our vows are going to take forever!

I wouldn't suggest taking anything though, especially if you're going to be drinking. Not a safe combo!

I really thought I would cry, but I was fine! I teared up during our first look, but that was it!

Something comes over you in the moment to act regular.

Also, to me, seeing a ceremony is way emotional, being the center of one...way awkward.
