Eloping & celebrating

Chelsea, on July 31, 2019 at 7:30 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
My Fiancee and I are having a ball with our engagement. Our relationship is 100% and we are head over heels in love and ready to get married. I want a big wedding with pictures and family and friends and flowers and all that jazz but we dont exactly have the money for all that at the moment. But I also want to have his last name asap. Has anyone ever eloped and then a few years later had a family reception on your anniversary? How much did you like it?

I've heard of plenty of brides doing this! You can always have a large vow renewal later on down the road Smiley heart

Hey Chelsea! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

Congratulations on your engagement! It’s so heartwarming to hear how much you are enjoying your engagement!!

I think what you are planning sounds like a wonderful idea! You can have a celebration on your anniversary for your family and friends which would be beautiful for them to be involved in! If you were interested, you could even think about doing a vow renewal with those close to you present.

Would you travel somewhere to elope?

I did not do this but my sister did! Eloped to Las Vegas and sent out cards when she returned saying "Hey I married so and so in Las Vegas, please join us for a party."

    Congratulations in advance!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. I agree with the ladies I've seen this done before and it was just as significant. Don't let finance discourage you your true friends and family will still support you when the time is right.
