Although it was kinda crazy to cancel our plans only 2 months before the wedding, I couldn’t be happier about the decision to elope in Hawaii instead.
It’s all coming together…
We hired the planning company a little over 2 weeks ago, booked one of their elopement packages and selected the beach location for the ceremony. Since it’s only the two of us, the package we chose includes: set up, an officiant, videographer, small cake, two leis, limo, ukulele player and photographer. Although a photographer is included, these all-inclusive packages somewhat “nickel and dime“ when it comes to add-ons. So, we also hired an outside photographer who will meet at the hotel to take “first look” photos, then travel to the ceremony. Flowers were ordered (a bouquet, a floral lei crown and a boutonniere). I also sold my first wedding dress and kept the second one, since it’s more “beachy”.
Since we’re now getting married on Halloween (instead of 10/30/21) we made dinner reservations at a beachfront restaurant and then we’ll walk around in our bride and groom “costumes” that night. The next evening, will be our “reception“ and we booked a private window table on a dinner cruise (with Polynesian entertainment, etc.). For the cruise, we also booked an extra session with our photographer to take photos of us while on the ship. After that, we’ll simply enjoy the rest of the days in Hawaii for the honeymoon.
At this point, the main things left to do are: pick up FH’s ring, book a luau for our final honeymoon night, find a suit jacket for FH, select a song for the video and go shopping for honeymoon outfits
After a year postponement (causing a long 3-year engagement), we finally reached our 45-day countdown… so excited about this eloping adventure! 😁💕😁
