Easel seating chart help.....

OG FMP, on July 30, 2015 at 9:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

Ok so we're currently working on the seating chart which is going to be on an easel with a picture of us in the background. My question is for those who are using an easel as well, are you doing it by table numbers or in alphabetical order. For example...

Table 1

James smith

Jane Doe

Table 2

Maria Jose

Beyonce

OR

A

Adams John........10

Alves Maria.........11

B

Brown Jane........5

Ballsy John.......8

I can't decide ... What would you do?

We did our seating chart sort of like your first example. It was alphabetical by last name under each table. We had 84 names to assign to tables.

    Table 1

    Charming, Prince

    DeVille, Cruella

    Duck, Daffy

    Mouse, Mickey

    Mouse, Minnie

I personally think grouped as tables looks better, but from a logistic point of view, alphabetical works better if you have a larger wedding. I wouldn't mind grouped as tables if you didn't have a lot of tables.

I think it depends on the number of guests you have. I personally like listings by table, however if you have 150 plus guests, it might become cumbersome for everyone to look through the entire list to find their name/table

Grouping them with Table number is easier with a small group of tables. If you have a lot tables, it can be tricky.. I went to a wedding with 23 tables 10 people at each. I couldn't find my name forever. So alphabetical would be easier for a large group.

We are doing table numbers since we will only have 6 table in addition to the head table.

For 165 guests, I'd list all the names alphabetically by last name and put the table number off to the right like your last example. If it was less than 100, it would probably be ok to do it by table number.

We have a few that FMIL invited but she just gave us Mr. & Mrs. John Smith - Idk the woman's first name so how would I write that on the easel?

@FMP - sorry, I meant the actual easel portion. I have been looking for two for a reasonable price that aren't ugly! haha I found one on overstock that I like and just haven't pulled the trigger since they are like $70 each.

ETA - that seating chart is super cute though!!

Raelyn - OH LOL DUH! - The actual easel was provided by our venue at no additional cost.

Try renting one....Is there any rental places in your area?? We have a few here....
