Early morning wedding makeup dilemma!

Catherine, on February 1, 2016 at 4:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

So this is my issue - my wedding is Saturday, August 6 at Lands End in Sayville, NY. My wedding is at 11:30am and after speaking with my photographer, they stated that they want us ready by 7:30am. I am having a major problem finding makeup artists that have enough people with them to get the job done. I have the hair taken care of (hair dressers are coming at 5am), but now I need a makeup artist who has a team that can come to my house that morning and get 9 bridesmaids, 3 junior bridesmaids and mother of the bride ready by 7:30! My makeup will be taken care of by my cousin, but I need it for everyone else.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks!

Quick question... why do you need to be ready four hours before the wedding? Even if you're doing pictures and a first look, you shouldn't need that much time.

Try looking at the Vendors tab.

Can you push back ceremony? That sounds horrid.

We are having a brunch wedding so we are starting hair and makeup at 5 am. I didn't have any trouble finding people to do this. Just keep contacting MUAs here on WW, or do a google search of MUAs in your area. You will find someone for the job.

That's REALLY early. Did the photographers say why that early? Or maybe hire multiple makeup artists to get people ready?

Why are the hair people coming at 5am?! That sounds awful. You have so many people in your wedding party!! That is a massive amount of people!

Maybe let your BM's do their own makeup so they don't have to get there that early? May be more budget friendly too..

@ stacydiane.ox they said they just usually allot an hour and a half of time at the bridal prep location and then they want to utilize the 9:30-11:30 time slot before the wedding for pictures so we don't take any time away from our wedding to take a bunch of pictures away from our guests.

@Catherine, our first look is at 9 am followed by bridal party photos. If you are doing your photos before the ceremony, then your timeline makes sense.

Disregard those who are saying it's too early. It's one day. People will survive.

I booked hotel rooms for the bridal party, the hairstylists and MUAs are coming to our hotel, and I'm paying for their hair and makeup, so no one has any excuses to not be on time in the morning.

@MzRosaLu thank you! I am offering my house to any and all bridesmaids that want to spend the night so that they are already there in the AM. I know for a fact none of my girls will be mad at the timing, that to me is pretty ridiculous. We are all adults, being awake at 5am shouldn't cause a meltdown. Again, thanks for your advice and kind words! Good luck to you on your wedding day!
