I went to a wedding not long ago where each guest was given two tickets to redeem for 2 drink max (beer and wine). This was due to budget constraints. I thought it was a good idea. Any opinions/feedback?

I say do it. We live in a more rural area and it's common practice to have the bride and groom buy the first drink and then have a cash bar the rest of the night.
I'm just wondering... people who say they would take cash out of the card at a cash bar wedding, do you hold onto your card until the wedding is almost over and then surrender it? That seems really odd to me. The first thing I do at a wedding reception is put my gift on the gift table. I'm honestly just curious.

This reminds me of a work event not a wedding. Please don't do this.

It's not a 'rural area' thing, (I checked with several of my rural colleauges) and it's not a "your special day' thing.
I was at wedding a few weeks ago with similarity. I HATE it! Although this wedding was more alcohol- I think it could have been handed better! Totally tacky on my opinion.
Not a popular thing here. Don't do it. Host your wedding properly

Oh, wow...another reason that I believe Keisha is amazing. Do all of you "cash bar/drink tickets" brides intend to hold to that standard when it comes to your bachelorette parties? LOL, Keisha. Epic. Give the bachelorette two drink tickets....hahahahahaha!
If you want to host a carnival, tickets are fine. If you're hosting a wedding, forget that idea entirely. Beer and wine open bar will suffice if you don't have the means for a true open bar.
