Dress too tight at back

Fdranda, on September 10, 2017 at 2:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 49

I had my alteration appointment yesterday and she told me there wasn't anything she could do to fix it. It looks like my back has a butt crack. Has anyone else had this issue?

How could there be nothing they could do? They could take it out more.

    Also, gorgeous dress!

Oh no! Has not happened to me. Did alterations take too much in?

Was the dress bought too small or was it altered to tight? Bring it elsewhere and see about adding a corset to it.

Oh jeez. How are they not be able to fix it? That's not acceptable. Was the dress too small to begin with?

When I tried the dress on originally it was too big, but they ordered it in my size. She said the bra (which is the same one I used when they sold it to me) is probably pushing my skin up. She said my veil will cover it up....sheesh.

Agree with PP...there has to be something they can do. Check other seamstresses!

Oh no! She's not a very good seamstress if she can't do anything about it.

Sounds like she is being lazy or doesn't know what to do. Try another place because there has to be something someone can do!

I had kind of the same issue. My seamstress is currently putting an 8inch "V" corset in the back to allow a little wiggle room to help. Maybe check with someone else to see what options you have?

Take it to someone else. It's not the bra the dress was ordered the wrong size. They could do something like this: https://i.pinimg.com/236x/4a/a3/b3/4aa3b3a7b2c765193aacd06834490b41--wedding-dress-accessories-lace-up.jpg

No No No, I'm sure they can do better! Talk to another seamstress about a corset back. It would look pretty with your dress!

Do you have the same issue if you don't have the bra on underneath just to be sure it's not the bra? But that seems ridiculous that she can't fix it.

I had an issue with my bra until my seamstress showed me a different way to put it on (lean over and hook it vs standing up straight). She also showed me where it should sit (I was pulling it up too high). Find a new seamstress as well.

Did you try to sit in it? I know when I have a tight dress in standing the chances of sitting are slim to none.

It looks like they didn't order the right size if that's how it fits. I would suggest a corset back be added so you can breath and not be self conscious all night

Sounds like the seamstress doesn't want to do work, and her telling you the veil will cover it up is highly unacceptable. I would take it elsewhere and see what they can do.

You can definitely get it fixed, most probably by adding a corset. Look for another seamstress ASAP.

Take your dress and leave- that's not acceptable.
