Dress too tight?! 16 days until wedding

Haley , on May 7, 2019 at 11:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hey brides! I am in a total panic about my dress. I tried it on less than a month ago and it fit so perfectly and comfortably. Fast forward to this past Saturday, I took my dress to DB to try on some shoes with it and it was SO tight. Like zipper would barely shut tight. After almost having a complete meltdown, the store manager assured me that it was probably just bloating/swelling from being out in the AZ heat with no water... my sister and I had been out shopping for some last minute decor items for 9 hrs before going to DB. I’m back in CA now and am hoping that the cooler temps and lots of water will help me fit into the dress again. Anyone have a similar experience or any advice?? Thank you!!

I’m sure the stylist knew what she was talking about so I would try not to stress for one. Also; drink lots of water and try to keep your salt intake low. I know you’ll look stunning!

A few pounds can make a difference in a tight wedding dress. If your weight changed, can you do keto for a week & cut calories? Just don’t do a fast because if you have alcohol on your wedding you could get really sick.

You’ll be fine & rock your dress!

My theory? As long as it zips, you're good. Just like anything else you wear that starts off too tight, your dress will "give" a little bit just from moving around. I know mine did (not in a "wearing these jeans for the 4th day in a row" kind of way, but more in a "oh hey, I can breathe now" kind of way!) Smiley smile I think you're just fine. Just keep an eye on what you eat and drink - don't go overboard! Drink more water and try to keep your stress levels as low as you can. Stress can give me super bloat and water retention, so just breathe, drink your water and keep positive Smiley smile

I totally agree with this. If it zips, you're totally fine and I think it will give as the day goes on after you have it on. Keep up with the water and limit your salt intake to reduce bloating.

All the PPs have good advice. I'm sure you didn't gain that much weight in a month so the DB consultant is probably right about the heat. Think about how some of us have troubles with our rings fitting in certain temps! In the meantime, it probably wouldn't hurt to stay away from foods that cause bloating - breads, alcohol, super salty foods, soda pop, etc. Good luck!
