Dress too big on my bust, need help please!

Megan, on January 30, 2020 at 9:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 8

I have small boobs and my dress has already undergone alterations and the bust is still too big. There's quite a bit of gap between my boobs and the dress. If I bend over you can see everything! The seamstress already sewed in push up cups and I really don't want to add any more padding as it already looks weird and super fake.

For reference, here is the dress I'm wearing. It's pretty sheer and has that plunging neckline and open back so I'm not sure what kind (if any) undergarments I can wear with it. I don't need bra support, I just want my dress to fit and not worry about people seeing my nipples.

Is my best option just using fashiontape to keep the cups down?? I've never used fashion tape - any brand recomendations? My wedding is next Friday so I'm not sure if there's time for more alterations. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Your seamstress should be able to make the dress fit properly without any gaps.. maybe take it somewhere else and see if they can help you, I know it’s last minute but better safe than sorry!!’

I’m sorry you’re going through this! Do you have any pictures of you in the dress post alterations - so we can see the severity of it? Your dress is beautiful!

    Megan,
Your dress is STUNNING, you will be a gorgeous 👰 I think you should quickly ask another seamstress's opinion, I have small boobs also ( between a A and B cup ) and couldn't fill out my bust, I had sewn in padded cups and my dress is fine now, your v-neck probably makes it harder to fix, my dress is a Stella York, style 6979, if you care to see it, a good seamstress should be able to fix your dress or at least tell you how to properly use the tape, best if luck!

I would take it somewhere else, there’s no reason a good seamstress can’t make a dress fit flush to your body. You should definitely not have to be worrying about nip slips at your wedding. Take your dress somewhere else, that’s absolutely not acceptable on their part

Your dress is GORGEOUS! My dress was too big in the busy area too. My seamstress has to take the top of my dress in by a couple of inches. I don’t have the gapping problem anymore at all. Maybe this would help?

Sticky boobs, tape, or nude nipple pasties. My sister in law had a similar neckline, she too is small chested, and if she stood sideways you could see her boobs. We got her skin color nipple covers and you couldn't tell.

Google boob cutlets and you’ll find some boosters to put in bra to help fill it out a bit.
