Dress for Loft Venue?

Camille, on December 5, 2016 at 8:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

I know that there are no rules to style and that I should wear what I feel good in but I can't help but feeling that a ball gown will be a little out of place for my loft venue wedding. I'm between an Aline/ball gown OR a trumpet dress shown below. I am leaning towards the ballgown because of the shade of blushes available for this style of dress. (Indoor garden/minimalist theme). Any other brides get married in this type of venue?

The size of the venue holds 100 people max if that gives you an idea of the size of the place. It isn't a whole warehouse type of loft.

I think the ballgown one is really elegant, as for fitting your venue, I don't really know how to tell. I'd just go with your favorite, personally!

Do you have a picture of your venue? That would help a lot.

Here are a few google images of the venue with the outside courtyard. We are still deciding if we will be doing the ceremony outside or both ceremony and reception inside as we will only have about 50-60 guests.

I'm getting married in a place with a similar feel and I'm wearing a ball gown! I like the first one a lot!! I would go and try on different styles and see what you really fall in love with!

I personally LOVE the trumpet dress and I think it is more fitting for your venue.

Trumpet. That's that one place in Ybor right? I looked at the venue. Very nice!

Both dresses are gorgeous. Really I think either one would work with your venue, but if you're asking our opinions I love the trumpet one.

My venue is very similar to yours and I ended up in a ruffled ballgown. We are aiming for a more classic affair, so a ballgown fit that aesthetic.

Both dresses are gorgeous and would be perfectly fine in your venue. Pick the dress you feel beautiful in!

@2B_Mrs.J.T Yes it is! We live in Boston and have only seen pictures online so far! Any other feedback from your visit to the venue?

Thank you to everyone else for taking the time to answer my question and your opinions. I'm in love with both so it really comes down to if one would not quite match the venue/theme. Thank you again!

Have you tried either/any of them on? ultimately you may be surprised by what silhouette you prefer.

start there- then start to narrow down what feels right for YOU for your venue.

@camille other than the fact that if I could have gone with it, I would have. Very lovely and just my type of place. FH vetoed it for the simple fact that it was in Ybor and he hates Ybor. :/ nova 535 which is in st pete, had a similar feel but much more pricey
