Dress Dilemma

Jasmine, on January 3, 2020 at 5:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 8 166

These are my final two gown selections. Each very different and leaving my very torn. The ball gown gave me "the feels" when I put it on. It is simple, but I liked that about it and want to purchase an antique looking belt. However, my father thinks it looks like a prom dress and is plain, my best friends also thought it was a little plain for me (but support my choice). The lace piece, I also loved because it would compliment my body shape, wedding theme (rustic, romantic), and venue (an old cotton mill). Also, THAT TRAIN! However, no "the feels" (I still loved it though). This dress has the support of my friends and father. How would you choose?! I love them both for different reasons and will reason with myself until my edges fall out.side-by-sideDress Dilemma 1side-by-sideDress Dilemma 2excuse my expressionDress Dilemma 3ball gown side viewDress Dilemma 4

Go with the ballgown! No one else's opinions will replace "that feeling." The dress is simple, but beautiful and elegant.

I personally think you look *AMAZING* in the lace one, but will admit bias that I don't think about wedding dresses in regards to the feels. I disagree with your father on the ballgown looking like a prom dress, prom dresses now resemble more the lace dress than anything (and normally in colors rather than white).

You look stunning in both but if you get the feels in the ballgown then you should definitely get that one.

I think the ball gown looks more bridal and if you have the feels then that is the dress. The sheath one looks more like a reception dress. I think you can easily dress up the ball gown also with the veil and accessories. You look beautiful.

You should go with the ballgown since it gave you the feels. Since the gown is more simple, you can play up the theme of your wedding with a nice veil. It is such a stunning classic look and it looks great on you. You look like a whole vision.

I seconded everyone else advice lol. Go with the ballgown, it gave you that "this is it" feeling. Always go with your gut feelings and by the way, the back on that ballgown is stunning!!!Smiley love

Go with the ballgown cause it makes you happy. I think the reason they think that way is because you're not wearing a veil yet. Once you complete the look it will look like a true wedding gown to them. The lace also looks amazing on you, but if you aren't completely happy with it you should go with your gut and do what makes you happy,

They’re both beautiful dresses but oh my god that ball gown 😍 I have a kind of similar story. I found a ball gown that I absolutely adored. It caught my attention the first instant I was looking around at the start of my appointment. I tried it on and it was amazing and I felt so beautiful in it. BUT it was “plain”. It was a textured organza with a little bit of soft tulle in the front, and a straight across neckline. There was no lace, and no sparkle. My mom and my FMIL both said it was pretty, but they felt like it was too plain. I ended up buying a different “flashier” dress that had a big sparkle tulle skirt, and a ton of beading on the top. My mom cried, I told myself that I loved it. But then it came in and I realized I hated it. I ended up goi Nd back and exchanging it for the first dress that I loved and should have gotten in the first place.

Long story short, if you love the ball gown and it gave you “the feels” don’t discount that just because your dad and feiend don’t like it. at the end of the day, it’s your dress. If you want the lace awesome! But if you really want the “plain” ball gown, don’t let other people talk you out of it just because it’s “plain”

I adore both of them on you, and while I'm usually more of a ball gown girl (mostly because I don't have the body for a curve-hugging dress), there are so few other occasions you get to wear a gown like that first one and you really rock it. BUT... the other is very traditional, also very beautiful, can be accessorized many ways, and if it's what makes you feel like a bride... maybe that's the one for you!

You look amazing in both but go with the “feels!” 💕 Are you going to try on more gowns? Try on more ballgowns because I think that’s calling you. And if none of those gives you “the feels” then you’ll knoooow this is The One. ❤️

Go with whichever you feel best in. It’s your day and you need to be happy with your final choice. But I’ll be honest with you, that lace gown is gorgeous and looks amazing on you!!!! That would be my choice, hands down!
