So our dress code is basically no jeans. I am thinking dresses nice o pants. Not everyone invited gmhas a lot of extra spending money. I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to go out and get something. Just done want people in Jeans. How do I word that?

I think most people will use common sense when choosing what to wear to a wedding - if it's a backyard celebration you know jeans will likely be totally fine, and if it's at a nice wedding hall - you should prob opt out for a nice dress and heels... If you get a few odd ones that think it's okay to wear flip flops to a 5 star reception. Oh well! not a big deal.

Actually I have a question that is similar to that... i will be planning a vow renewal ceremony and not sure if my dress will be white, ivory or red... BUT if i opted for a colored gown i was thinking of maybe asking guests to wear all white? That would make for awesome pictures. and overall i think when ppl wear white it fancies anything up. Would that be appropriate?Smiley smile

You should start a separate discussion on this if you want responses.

I’m late to this and found it while googling, but I had to comment because y’all finding it offensive actually sound insane and must not be from Texas, Louisiana or Florida because some people WILL show up in jeans or casual wear. There’s nothing offensive about listing suggested or appropriate dress for your wedding. Also, it’s pretty obvious what semi-formal means if you’ve worked in an office (similar to business casual, but can be a bit dressier). Im actually taken aback by the amount of hurt this apparently causes.
