    My budget is under $400.

You can find TONS of dresses under $1500, the Bridal shops always display theirmost expensive dressesin front/on mannequins so ask for ones on the racks or in the back. Also try searching where you wouldn't normally think.( "special occasion" or even Prom, pretty much as soon as you tell anyone its for a wedding the prices go up $1000.)

As for your budget; Our budget for entire wedding is 10k also, and it's destination so that includes our flight and hotel stay for 1 week. It's difficult but definitely doable! Try to get quotes on things like decor and catering BEFORE you tell them it's a wedding. Say "Family event" "Family Reunion" or just about anything else.

I'm sure you can find your dream dress in your budget for sure. Smiley smile

My parents gave me a $5k-ish budget.

My wedding dress was $1600, traditional Chinese dress was $300 and reception dress was $1000
Alterations are gonna kill me though prob around another $2k for all three

I had nooo idea what to expect when I started dress shopping and initially I thought $800 was a lot. Then the first bridal salon I went to had dresses over $10k and that blew my mind hahaha. My parents are paying for most of my wedding so I didn't really have a firm budget, but luckily for them I didn't like the fancier gowns with tons of beading and sparkle. My favorite dress ended up costing $1700, sadly alterations are $650 but I think my seamstress is worth it.

Hi Taylor alterations cost substantial money. My gown will run around $400-$450.00 DEPRESSING! But it’s absolutely stunning at least to me.

My parents purchased my dress for me. There was never an official budget set but I knew my sisters dresses were about $1500 so I was looking in that price range. My dress ending up being $1300 before alterations and I don’t anticipate needed to do too many alterations besides hemming.

Not yet! My mom will be making my veil. I tried on a few and we have some ideas for what it will look like but we plan to wait until the dress I ordered comes in to really make it.

How nice your mum is creating your veil.. “KEEPSAKE “. I’m in the process of veil hunting myself and EVERYTHING I really like is over $400 because of the rhinestone and beading you complement my wedding gown. Well I know your veil will be MARVELOUS because your mum is doing it. Please post !

I hear a lot of people say they're super expensive to get done! I'm expecting less because I chose a crepe dress so there is only one layer of fabric. All that I really need is to get it hemmed a bit and bustled. From my understanding, hemming the multiple layers of poofy gowns and taking the dress in are the expensive parts. Do you have a picture of yours? Smiley smile
